ANGUS Cloud starred in a special moment in the film Abigail just weeks before her death, and the directors have revealed how they handled it.

The 25-year-old Euphoria actor died last year of an overdose, shortly after his father passed away from mesothelioma.

Angus starred in the horror film Abigail before production was shut down due to the SAG-AFTRA strikes that took place from July until the end of October.

The actor starred in several scenes, but died before filming resumed.

Abigail is a horror-thriller film about Dracula’s daughter and hits screens on Friday.

Angus managed to record all of his scenes before he passed away and Universal decided to keep them.

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett co-directed the production, having previously worked on Scream 5 and Scream 6.

The pair sat down with Variety and reminisced about the time they spent working with Angus.

“It was so evident how much fun he was having,” Tyler explained.

“I don’t think we’ve ever worked with someone who forced the other actors in the scene to pay attention.

“There is not a false moment in anything he does. He kind of gave everyone permission to be a little weird and throw some moves that maybe they wouldn’t otherwise, just because of how natural and charismatic he is in a scene,” he continued.

The entire cast and crew returned to the production after the strike and said they wanted to do justice to the role of Angus.

“Everyone involved really wanted to make sure we finished the film strong and did Angus justice. We feel a responsibility,” Matt said.

Matt also revealed a special moment in the film where Angus specifically chose which song his character would sing.

“He said, ‘I can’t believe we’re going to put this song in a fucking movie!’” he said.

“To the credit of everyone involved, it was never possible to cut it. It was like, ‘No, this meant a lot to Angus. Let’s let this be part of the movie.’”

Both directors ensured that no CGI or technology was used to reconstruct Angus in the film.

“Every Angus thing is Angus in the movie,” Matt added.

“There’s not even an off-camera ADR line that we needed for the story. It’s all Angus.”

Abigail has received positive reviews since its release and holds an impressive 88% on the review site, Rotten tomatoes.

“I loved it, the blood, the acting, the comedy. Very well executed film for horror fans”, commented a positive fan.

“Great cast! Amazing in every way!” added another five-star reviewer.

“Abigail is the best horror thriller released this year so far. It’s intense, exciting and a little funny,” wrote a third.

Abigail was Angus’ last project before he passed away in August last year.

FAMILY GRIEF

Lisa Cloud, Angus’ mother, shared a touching message on Facebook at the time, thanking people for the love they gave her family during this “shattered time.”

“I also want you to know that although my son was deeply saddened by his father’s untimely death from mesothelioma, his last day was joyful,” she wrote.

Lisa said her son was rearranging his room and placing items around the house that day, which she believes means he intended to stick around for a while.

There was speculation that Angus might be suicidal following his father’s death, however, Lisa said her son had spoken about wanting to help family members with college – another sign that led her to believe this was not the case.

“I don’t know if or what he put in his body after that. All I know is that he put his head on the table where he was working on art projects, fell asleep and didn’t wake up,” she wrote. .
