Winona Ryder, 52, takes center stage in the latest trailer as she reprises her role as Lydia Deetz.

In the footage, Lydia has grown up since she was a teenager and has returned to the haunted house since childhood.

The Stranger Things actress reunites with her original co-star, Catherine O’Hara, 70, who played Lydia’s mother, Delia Deetz.

The Deetz family has grown since the ’80s, when newcomer Jenna Ortega, 21, joined the cast as Lydia’s daughter Astrid Deetz.

Michael Keaton, 72, is also back as the rambunctious spirit known as Beetlejuice.

Leading the horror-comedy once again is director Tim Burton, 65, who brings his gothic and quirky style.

The trailer includes clips of a crashing plane, the Nemworld Waiting Room, and an airport terminal reimagined as a dance hall for the undead.

Among the practical effects, Monica Bellucci, who plays Beetlejuice’s wife, appears with stitches on her ghoulish face, reminiscent of Tim’s animated film The Nightmare Before Christmas.

THE COMMENTS

Fans and critics jumped to Xformerly known as Twitter as they seemed to be at odds with the special effects of the upcoming summer movie.

“I love how the animation and CGI remained the same as the original. This is going to be amazing,” praised one fan.

“I’m still not sure how I feel about it. It feels… I don’t know… missing a certain ingredient? The effects feel cheap and silly,” mentioned one reviewer.

“Great makeup and special effects! I’ll never look at Michael Keaton the same way again!” a second fan applauded.

“I thought the trailer for BEETLEJUICE 2 looked really fun. But there’s a quick shot of a plane that reminded me of the CGI from AIR FORCE ONE,” mentioned another reviewer, referring to Harrison Ford’s 1997 action film.

“I’m not normally a sequel girl unless a story warrants it, but this has me SO excited! It actually looks like fun! Plus, practical effects for victory,” said one commentator.

MISSING BARBARA?

In mid-April, actress Geena Davis, 68, revealed whether or not she will return in Beetlejuice 2.

Yes, no, you know what? Because my theory is that ghosts don’t age… Not that I do.
