FREAKY Friday 2 will hit theaters in 2025, with cast member Chad Michael Murray set to return.
Lindsay Lohan, 37, and Jamie Lee Curtis, 65, who starred in the 2003 film, will reprise their lead roles in the sequel.
Chad, 42, played Lindsay’s dreamy love interest Jake in the original film.
Fans have been excited about his return, with one even saying, “We won.”
“This is important for the fans,” wrote a second on X, formerly Twitter.
“Wow, this is unexpected. I didn’t think he would come back for a sequel,” said a third, while a fourth added: “I love seeing him back.”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAA I’M SO HAPPY,” exclaimed another.
Along with Chad, mate Freaky Friday stars Mark Harmon, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolowsky and Rosalind Chao will also return for the sequel.
The sequel will show characters Tess (Jamie) and her daughter Anna (Lindsay) years after their infamous body swap debacle.
Anna now has a daughter and a future stepdaughter, and as the film’s official synopsis says: “Tess and Anna discover that lightning can actually strike twice.”
Freaky Friday was a huge success, grossing $110 million at the domestic box office and $160 million globally.
It also became one of Lindsay’s best-known roles in her career, leaving fans excited for the upcoming reprisal.
Freaky Friday 2 will also mark his return to theaters after a major acting hiatus.
Most recently, she returned to Hollywood in the Netflix romantic comedies Falling For You and Irish Wish, the latter of which was released earlier this year.
Lindsay also made a cameo in the new Mean Girls film, 20 years after starring as Cady Heron in the original.
FILMING IN PROGRESS
Freaky Friday 2 has already started filming and Walt Disney Studios recently confirmed that the film will be released next year.
On Monday, Disney shared a photo of Lindsay and Jamie holding hands while sitting on the steps outside their trailers.
“The Colemans are back and hitting theaters in 2025! The Freaky Friday sequel is now in production!” the caption read in X.
Jamie made a rock star gesture with her hand and stuck out her tongue as Lindsay smiled beside her.
In March, the Parent Trap star said People that production on Freaky Friday 2 was underway, adding that she was “excited to work with Jamie again and see how much further we can take this.”
“We talk almost every day in general, so I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with this,” Lindsay added.
