ICE Spice has been criticized for repeatedly playing commercials during their tour performances.
Ice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, is currently on Y2K! World Tour supporting the release of their debut studio album on July 26th.
Footage from one of the 24-year-old rapper’s recent shows went viral on TikTokas fans questioned why the performance began with a series of advertisements, including a commercial for an eyelash brand.
The TikTok clip was later shared on a Reddit Forum for shows and festivals, with the caption: “People are reporting that she ran ads about two hours before the show.”
“It’s necessary to complete when you have five songs,” responded a critical Reddit user.
Another person said: “Literally sold out.”
“I already hate ads before movies (not trailers obviously) but this is just ridiculous,” read a third comment.
“With concert tickets already incredibly expensive, having to endure the same 4 damn ads for hours is completely disrespectful,” the user continued. “I hope it doesn’t turn into something common.”
“This is so cheesy,” read another comment. “I would have left.”
While some questioned whether this was standard practice, others recalled how artists such as Shakira, Depeche Mode, Beyoncé and The Spice Girls also ran advertisements at their shows.

“Shakira did this in 2011! Two hours of the same two Garnier ads,” said one user. “I can’t even look at the brand anymore.”
Those who endured the ads at Ice’s shows took to X to share their experiences, revealing that a Juicy Couture commercial and Trap movie trailer were also shown before she took the stage.
“I went to the frozen condiment show yesterday and the strangest part for me were the ads and movie trailers that were shown before their performance,” one person wrote.
Another said: “Trap ad at a show… at a chilled spice show… can we be serious???? [crying emoji].”
Trap is the latest film from director M. Night Shyamalan, starring Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue and the filmmaker’s daughter, Saleka.
A third X user joked that there’s something about “ice spice running ads before their shows” that “tickles me so much.”
Ice Spice dating history
Ice Spice, 24, is still a relatively new artist, but she’s been linked to some big names. She finds out who the rapper dated as rumors fuel that she and Central Cee are a couple.
Drake – Canadian rapper – The two were spotted at OVO Fest in Toronto in August 2022, but the rumors were put to rest when Drake unfollowed her on Instagram after their meeting.
Stranger Things star Caleb McLaughlin was spotted together at an event hosted by Cardi B and Offset in September 2021. It’s unclear when they split, but they still follow each other on Instagram.
Jason Cid (King Cid) – YouTuber – dated 2024. In an interview with Los Angeles TimesIce confirmed that he was “currently dating someone” but kept it a secret. King and Ice were photographed hugging each other.
Central Cee – rapper, reportedly dating in July 2024. Central left a flirty comment on Ice’s Instagram post where she was twerking in a tiny dress.
The argument over whether artists should allow commercials at their shows continued different Reddit channel.
One person predicted: “There will soon be an easing of debates over which band/artist [sic] Better if they don’t run ads in the middle of their damn shows.”
Last month, Ice confirmed that his relationship with fellow rapper Central Cee is strictly platonic after a cheating scandal erupted around the musicians.
‘NOT TRAVELING’
Ice and hitmaker BAND4BAND first teamed up following the release of his song Did It First, which appears on Y2K!.
Romance rumors continued to swirl after they were driving Central’s Lamborghini through London, England.
The pair’s sighting inside Chrome Hearts jewelry store added fuel to the fire, before Central’s ex-girlfriend Madeline Argy claimed she was still dating the British rapper when he was spotted with Ice.
“I couldn’t even break up with him, and he’s already with the next girl,” Madeline said in a video posted to TikTok.
A few hours later, Ice appeared to react to Madeline’s claims by sharing a photo of her posing with Central.
“Not tripping over my bag,” she captioned the photo.
