What happened between Drake and Kendrick Lamar?

Although some fans believe that Drake and Kendrick Lamar had been secretly feuding for years, their feud escalated over the latter’s verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s song Like That.

In the aforementioned track, Kendrick referenced Drake’s single First Person Shooter and rapped, “Yeah, get up with me, f**k sneaky diss…

“…First person shooter, I hope they come with three switches.

“Do you think I won’t reveal the location? I still have PTSD… Motherfucker, the big three… bro, it’s just me big.”

Kendrick also alluded to Drake’s For All the Dogs album and added, “For all his dogs being buried, that’s a K with all these nines, he’s going to see Pet Sematary.”

Kendrick’s verse responded to Drake and J. Cole’s previous name on their joint single First Person Shooter, which the latter sang: “I love it when they argue with the toughest emcee…

“…Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me? Us, the big three, like we started a league. But now, I feel like Muhammad Ali.”

On March 25, 2024, Drake appeared to reference his and Kendrick’s fallout during his concert in Sunrise, Florida.

“So we need a verse for the Swifties. How the hell are you stepping in a men’s size seven?

“Pipsqueak, calm down. You’re not among the big three.

“SZA eliminated you…Travis eliminated you…Savage eliminated you. As your record company, boy, you’re in trouble now.

“And you will feel the consequences of what I write. I’m at the top of the mountain, so you’re tense now.

“Just to have this conversation with you, I had to go downstairs.”

How did Kendrick respond to Drake?

On April 30, 2024, Kendrick released Euphoria; a diss track aimed at Drake.

The track’s title alludes to Drake’s executive producing credits on the HBO series of the same name.

In the song, he also references Drake’s rumored feud with Diddy, surgery rumors, his relationship with his son Adonis and his friendship with Lil Wayne.

“I like Drake with the melodies, I don’t like Drake when he acts tough,” said the first.

“You’re going to get Puff back, let me see if Chubbs actually breaks something

“Yes, my first as well as my last. It’s a classic, you don’t have one.

“Let your core audience take this… don’t tell them where you get your abs.

“You signed with a fool who signed with a fool who said he was signed with that bro

“Try to quit and give up on the Like That record. Hoe, what? You don’t like that record?

“Do you think my whole life is rap?

“I have a son to raise, but I can see you don’t know anything about it.”
