But Zach, 28, isn’t thrilled with the track’s success after learning it’s already hit pop radio.
Shortly after the singer released Pink Skies, several media outlets revealed that the emotional ballad had been picked up by pop stations.
Oklahoma native record label Warner Records apparently decided to promote the song for greater commercial success.

But Zach was apparently out of the loop when he shared a scathing message on X, formerly Twitter, ‘That’s shit, I never approved of that, why is Pink Skies on pop radio.’
Despite the songwriter’s fury at the release of his new single, which discusses the pain of loss, the crossover isn’t a big surprise.
His 2022 breakout hit Something in the Orange also achieved mainstream success, climbing the Billboard Top 100 for weeks.
But Zach followed up his initial post with more clarification, writing, “I’m not a damn pop or country artist, leave me out of this.”
“Pink Skies is not a pop song,” he wrote in all caps in another separate post.

Fans were shocked by Zach’s reaction, with many beating him for giving an “ungrateful” reaction for the news.
“Hello, independent artist here, I would be happy with a return on the radio. Don’t be upset about potentially making fans on the other side of the group haha,” one wrote.
“Here is a completely independent artist. I would be ecstatic if my music was played on any station.
“In fact, why would you be upset about allowing people who don’t normally listen to your music to finally have the chance to hear it,” agreed a second.
“Well, it’s not country, then?” a third trolled, while a fourth sarcastically said: “Man, this poor guy can’t catch a break. No 350/show ticket sales, no listeners, no promotion.
“If someone listened to this poor genderless artist… we’d all be better off for it.”
“Oh no! Your music is popular and more people want to hear it,” a fifth chimed in with an eye-rolling emoji.
“Weird situation. Once you release a song it will be heard, I don’t know why it matters where/how it is heard. I also think the gender debate is strange, good music is good music,” complained a sixth.
“He is the biggest diva in music today. Nobody complains more than him. This is exactly why his music fits perfectly on pop radio,” said another.
In an attempt to deal with the backlash, Zach shared a follow-up message saying, “Guys, you gotta send songs to the radio, like, ‘yeah, I’m okay with this,’ going one way or another. “

TERRIFYING ACCIDENT
The singer’s sad new track follows his involvement in a “traumatizing” car accident with his girlfriend, Brianna LaPaglia.
Earlier this month, the influencer detailed the life-threatening incident in an honest social media post.
“I think I’m close to a mental breakdown and I’ve been living on a bus for a month so it’s not helping my mental health,” the 24-year-old told her followers at the time.
“Two nights ago, Zach and I were in a traumatizing car accident,” she continued in a shaky voice.
“It rolled over several times, everything broke, and thank God we had our seat belts on, but there was a lot of blood and we thought we were saying goodbye,” Brianna explained.
The TikTok star revealed that Zach suffered a “huge cut” in the accident, and once paramedics arrived on the scene, they had to stitch him up.
The composer’s girlfriend confirmed that the two were “fine”, despite the injury.
“We are happy and alive,” she shared.
