RIOT FEST Riotland is back with a new location in 2024.
The annual punk rock music festival recently announced a new location along with its new lineup.
Where is RiotLand?
On June 11, 2024, before revealing the 2024 lineup, Riot Fest announced that it would leave its home in Chicago’s Douglass Park.
They simply said that the festival would take place in RiotLand, but did not reveal where RiotLand was.
The following day, Riot Fest announced that its 2024 venue will be SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Illinois.
Riot Fest was held in Douglass Park from 2015 to 2023.
The festival, which regularly attracts 50,000 people, will begin on September 20, 2024 and end on September 22.
Why did Riot Fest change?
According to ABC ChicagoIn 2023, many residents protested in opposition to the music festival held in Douglass Park.
In a video shared on social media, festival organizer Riot Mike wrote: “Riot Fest will leave Douglass Park.
“And — let me be as clear as the blue sky of the deepest summer — our exodus is due solely to the Chicago Park District.

“Their lack of care for the community, you and us, ended up leaving us no choice.”
The Chicago Park District issued a statement in response.
They said: “The Chicago Park District has learned indirectly that organizers of Riot Fest have stated that they do not intend to proceed with the event in Douglass Park in September.
“The permit application for the event has not been withdrawn and, in fact, is currently pending provisional approval by the Park District Board of Commissioners.”
Before moving to Douglass Park in 2015, Riot Fest had been held in Humboldt Park since 2005.
According to Chicago Club Blockthe festival moved from Humboldt Park in 2015 due to resistance from neighbors.
Who is on the 2024 Riot Fest lineup?
The 2024 Riot Fest lineup features some of rock’s biggest acts.
Chicago-based rock band Fall Out Boy will headline the first night of the festival on Friday, September 20, 2024.
Beck and Pavement will close the Saturday show on September 21, 2024.
Slayer will headline on Sunday as part of the few reunion shows the band is playing.
Other bands such as The Offspring, Public Enemy, St. Vincent, Sublime and Bright Eyes will also perform at the festival.
NOFX will play all three days as part of their farewell tour.
The Marley brothers, Ziggy, Stephen, Julian, Ky-Mani and Damian, are also scheduled for the festival.
