SINCE Tasha Ghouri burst onto the scene on Love Island in 2022, she has remained firmly in the spotlight.
The beautiful blonde is now taking over her next big TV challenge as part of the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 schedule.
Who is Tasha Ghouri?
Born on 8 August 1998, Tasha Ghouri is a reality TV star and model from Thirsk, North Yorkshire.
She was born deaf and initially fitted with hearing aids before receiving a single cochlear implant shortly before her fifth birthday.
Tasha later underwent speech therapy and was unable to speak until she was five, having communicated entirely in sign language until then.
Growing up, she began dancing as a profession and even appeared in the music video for More Than Words, by Sleepwalkrs featuring MNEK.
Tasha’s dancing experience will certainly help her when she takes part in Strictly in fall 2024.
The star has also worked as a model and has worked for brands such as L’Oreal Paris, Simmi Shoes and Ann Summers.
In 2023, she released her first book and hopes to close a deal with Netflix to turn it into a show.

In autumn 2024, fans will be able to watch Tasha strut her stuff on the Strictly Come Dancing dance floor.
She said she was “excited” and “nervous” before taking part in the show.
The reality star then defended her position on the show despite being a dancer – saying: “I haven’t danced for a few years – it’s such a different style of dancing, it’s going to be really hard. I’m excited for a challenge.”
Tasha added: “I’m nervous, I’m excited, I feel like I’m going to throw up.
“I feel like this is really happening, it didn’t feel real until I’m sitting here now.”

Tasha reportedly dated fire dancer Giovanni Pernice.
The pair had a few dinners before she joined the ITV2 dating show in summer 2022.
The Sicilian dancer had just lifted the Glitterball trophy with Rose Ayling-Ellis and was at the height of his TV career.
It was reported that Gio and Tasha connected via Instagram and exchanged messages for months before he had dinner and drinks with her in January 2022.
They say their affair collapsed because he was on the Strictly tour.
Gio has since left Strictly after his 2023 dance partner Amanda Abbington said she had PTSD after rehearsing with him.

Tasha is best known for starring in the eighth series of Love Island in 2022.

Tasha did history on Love Island as the show’s first deaf contestant.
She has always spoken openly about using a cochlear implant that helps her hear.
Addressing her fans on Instagram, Tasha candidly wrote: “I don’t often talk about the difficulties that come with being deaf and using a cochlear implant.
“I deal massively with social anxiety, a lot of it came from the ableist comments I received and still receive to this day.

“Common thoughts that run through my head are ‘what if I can’t hear who is talking to me?’, ‘What if I get it completely wrong?’, ‘What if my voice is judged?’, ‘What if someone comes. and take my implant out?’ and many more.”
She continued, “It’s something I’m still grappling with and it’s a journey for sure!
“Most of the time I prefer to stay in my little apartment and not face this”
Continuing Tasha explained that because she has to read lips and focus on conversations, she gets tired of concentrating.
“At the end of the day I suffer from migraines and headaches, I will be completely drained and drained to the point where I can’t even speak.
“That’s why I nap a lot – napping helps me recharge and get my energy back. energy come back!” she said. ⠀

Tasha also said she was very grateful for the implant and the opportunities it provided her, but added, “Just because I have a cochlear implant doesn’t mean I’m cured. I have my fights behind closed doors and so does everyone else.”
Before going to Love Island she had already represented the deaf community as an Asos model, with her cochlear implant visible in the campaign.
