The Braxton family is ready to return to TV with Braxton Family Values and sisters Towanda and Trina explained why they decided to return to the small screen after six years.
In an exclusive interview with The US Sun, Towanda, 50, and Trina, 49, explained that they wanted to tell “important” stories about what the family has been through in recent years, including the death of their sister Traci after a battle with cancer in 2022. , and her sister Tamar’s mental health journey after a suicide attempt in 2020.

Towanda said the new season will feature heavily on the loss of her beloved sister Traci, who died at age 50.
“You will see never-before-seen photos and videos of when she was sick and when she was transitioning. And we thought it was important to show our fans too, because our fans went through the journey with us with Tracy.
“It was a loss for us, but it was also a loss for our fans,” Towanda explained before adding, “she put up a great fight.”
“Traci definitely wanted us to come together to make this show, and one of the best things about it is that we also got her son on the show this season.”
Traci’s son, Kevin Surratt Jr., announced that his mother had died in a beautiful tribute on Instagram.
“Tracy simply didn’t want to be forgotten and we will always ensure her legacy lives on.”
Trina echoed those sentiments and added, “Traci definitely wanted us to come together to do this show, and we also included her son in this season of the show.
“Being the Traci that she is, she simply didn’t want to be forgotten and wanted to make sure her legacy lived on.”
Meanwhile, sister Tamar will also open up about her own mental health struggles following a suicide attempt in 2020.

“I have a responsibility,” she said. “I choose to live my life out loud; I have to do the work because people are watching me.”
Towanda said she will also share exciting news about her recent engagement to songwriter Sean Hall.
