GOLDEN Bachelor’s Gerry Turner’s daughter has defended her father after he received significant criticism over his short-lived romance with Theresa Nist.
The 72-year-old’s family cannot accept the backlash that has emerged following his separation from Theresa, 70, after three months of marriage.
Gerry’s daughter Angie addressed hate in an Instagram post, begging fans to back off.
She shared a photo of a message that said, “Everything always works out in the end,” alongside a lengthy post.
Angie wrote: “It’s no surprise that the news of my father and Theresa’s decision to separate has stirred up a range of emotions and opinions. I love how invested people are in the program, what an experience to have you along for the ride!
“What has been disheartening is the level of anger and cruelty our family has faced. My dad and Theresa are kind, good people who made this decision for them, no one else. , there are real people with real feelings.”

Gerry’s daughter added: “To all those who chose to show love and compassion to my father, Theresa and our family… Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
She also praised Andy Levine, co-host of the dating advice podcast Dear Shandy, who recently defended the first Golden Bachelor couple in an episode.
I COULD NOT MAKE IT WORK
Gerry and Theresa announced that they had split during an appearance on Good Morning America on April 12.
The reality TV stars revealed they couldn’t agree on their living situation, with Gerry living in Indiana and Theresa in New Jersey.
Due to this, they finally decided to end their marriage.
Fans were shocked by the news after watching the wedding on television earlier this year.
Many called for the couple to broadcast their divorce on television and mocked them for believing the relationship would work.
“Will the divorce proceedings also be televised?” one fan wrote in an online thread.
“What a shocking and unexpected turn of events,” commented another.
“Oh no, who could have predicted that?” a third added sarcastically.
I ask everyone to remember that behind every story there are real people with real feelings.

April Kirkwood, 66, who competed on the show alongside Theresa for Gerry’s heart, claimed she warned Theresa about Gerry.
“I really tried to tell you, but this was your lesson to live by. Much love!” April said in the Instagram comments under Theresa’s post, thanking fans for their kind words following the divorce announcement.
Gerry’s father Everett, 92, also revealed he had reservations about the wedding.
“I couldn’t say why [but] Right off the bat, Theresa pissed me off,” Everett exclusively told The US Sun after the split.
‘I STILL LOVE THIS PERSON’
The former couple got engaged during the Golden Bachelor season finale on Nov. 30.
Although Gerry and Theresa’s marriage has fallen apart, their feelings for each other remain.
“I still love this person,” Gerry told GMA’s Juju Chang during the reunion. “I have no doubt that I am still in love with her.”
Theresa reciprocated those feelings as they held hands during the interview.
