VANDERPUMP Rules will not film this summer, sources reveal.
Season 11 premiered on January 30, 2024, and filmed during the summer of 2023.
A source close to the situation said they want to give the stars a rest.
The Season 11 cast includes Tom Sandoval, 40, Ariana Madix, 38, Scheana Shay, 38, Brock Davies, Katie Maloney, 37, Tom Schwartz, 41, Lala Kent, 33, James Kennedy, 32, and Ally Lewber – a break , according to TMZ.
Insiders told the outlet they want the cast to “do their own thing for a bit without going back for another summer of filming.”
According to sources, the producers think the break will bring together more content and drama, so when they start filming again, they will have some more stories.
‘JUST CANCEL!’
As the news unfolded, many fans feared the show would be canceled.
On X, formerly Twitter, viewers shared their opinions.
“Just cancel please,” wrote one.
A second said: “I feel like their story is over. We have seen and heard enough.”
“It wasn’t cancelled, but I [have] a feeling that they are going to restructure themselves”, pointed out a third viewer.
“It is currently inaccessible,” said a fourth.
EVERYTHING ABOUT SCANDOVAL
TMZ also wanted to cut the cast some slack because of the ongoing drama between Tom Sandoval and Ariana regarding the case.
In March 2023, news broke that Tom Sandoval, who was at the time dating Ariana, cheated on her with his co-star and best friend, Raquel (Rachel) Leviss, 29.
Some of the aftermath was filmed during the season 10 finale.
The matter was then discussed in more detail at the heated Vanderpump Rules reunion.
Rachel did not return for season 11 because she spent time in a mental health facility last spring.
END OF AN ERA?
The end of Vanderpump Rules could be on the horizon after facing a huge decline in viewership.
On its opening night in January, the program received 1.3 million viewers.
Since then, the program has received between 930,000 and 988,000 viewers, according to TV ratings.
A source revealed to The US Sun that the reality show could be replaced by Lisa Vanderpump’s newest Hulu show, Vanderpump Villa.
The show follows Lisa and her French country estate, Chateau Rosabelle, where her goal is to offer guests a “once-in-a-lifetime experience, curated by Vanderpump.”
A source revealed to the outlet, “Many may not know this, but Vanderpump Villa is actually a test run to see if it can be as big a show as Vanderpump Rules.
“Lisa is keeping an eye on the public reaction.”
The source continued: “Villa could replace Rules in the future, especially if VPR continues to tank and there aren’t as interesting stories unfolding.”
They also claimed that the show was saved from cancellation due to Scandoval.
