TEEN mom Jenelle Evans’ hands are tied after kicking her ex-husband David Eason off the couple’s boat, which he has been living on since their split earlier this year.

US Sun can exclusively reveal that Jenelle, 32, “can’t evict” David, 35, due to the legality of the divorce case and will have to let things “unfold” in court first.

Following the couple’s court date on Thursday, April 25, regarding a second case regarding the protective order Jenelle requested against David, a source close to the couple revealed some information about their living situation.

The US Sun previously reported that the former MTV star had been living on his boat since February due to a stay-away order against him from Jenelle’s eldest son Jace, 14, who accused David of allegedly assaulting him.

Seeking separation from the exes, David extended his stay on the boat in a North Carolina marina and, according to the source, Jenelle legally cannot force him to leave.

“It gets a little more complicated when there is a divorce action filed,” the source revealed about the confusion of the situation.

“Therefore, everything that happened to the boat and any other personal belongings acquired during the marriage will have to be disposed of with the permission of the court.”

The source continued: “Right now, there’s really no legal path for Jenelle to evict David from the boat, even if it’s a separate property. She will let the legal process play out before taking any kind of action like this.”

‘IT’S MY SANCTUARY’

In Jenelle’s request for a protective order, the former TV personality alleged that David had not relinquished the keys to the ship despite his repeated requests for them.

In April photos obtained exclusively by The US Sun, David was captured walking around the docks with an electric toothbrush after washing up in the marina bathroom.

Around the same time, David spoke on TikTok about his love for the boat and how much he enjoyed living on it.

“This is my home; it’s my home where I live. It’s my sanctuary,” the former reality star said. “I don’t even bring people back here.”

For now, it looks like David won’t be pressured to jump ship, as more important issues need to be resolved first in his and Jenelle’s divorce.

The US Sun reported Wednesday that the court in Jenelle and David’s divorce battle has made custody of their 7-year-old daughter, Ensley, the top priority.

The same source revealed that this should be resolved soon, as Jenelle is fighting for full custody of Ensley, her only child.

“In North Carolina, whenever someone is named in a civil lawsuit, we have 30 days to respond. I believe these 30 days have almost passed [out]. Therefore, the time to respond or respond has expired,” the source explained.

Jenelle and David’s Relationship Timeline

The tumultuous duo has had their fair share of disagreements

Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans met David Eason on Tinder in September 2015.

Jenelle became pregnant in April 2016 and announced she suffered a miscarriage, then became pregnant again with her and David’s daughter Ensley a few months later.

The pair got engaged in February 2017 and married in September.

A year after saying “yes,” Jenelle called 911 and accused David of assaulting her outside her home. She would later call the incident “a drunken, dramatic misunderstanding” and said she was “fine.”

Around May 2019, David shot and killed his French bulldog puppy named Nugget. Weeks after the incident, CPS took custody of all of the children, including their daughter, Ensley, Jenelle’s son, Kaiser, and David’s daughter, Maryssa.

When her children were returned to her, Jenelle fled to Tennessee with Kaiser and Ensley and filed an order of protection against David in October. She eventually dropped the case and returned to him.

Over the next few years, the couple sparked divided rumors, as the two frequently unfollowed each other on social media and updated their relationship statuses on Facebook.

As The US Sun exclusively reported, on February 23, 2024, Jenelle filed for separation from David. She stated that she filed the documents with “the intention that the separation would be permanent” and alleged that Eason had “exhibited troubling and at times disturbing behavior toward [her]”Throughout the entire wedding.

“The courts will then begin to put her on the calendar and typically one of the first things they will do, and based on what she filed, is she will work to establish temporary custody of the children. It will probably be the first step.”

Although the source confirmed that Jenelle has not filed anything additional in her and David’s divorce case other than the domestic violence restraining order, a second source stated that Jenelle is confident that the court will be on her side.

The source, who is close to Jenelle, revealed that she has “something important about David that she keeps close to her chest. This is a smoking gun and she plans to use it during his divorce.”

FAMILY DIVIDED

David also faces a third case related to criminal charges for the alleged incident with Jace, which allegedly happened in September.

Although David is supposed to keep his distance from Jace under the stay-away order, Jenelle recently allowed him to return home after an attempted break-in.

Jenelle’s manager told The US Sun that authorities approved that David could return briefly to “protect the family.”

In addition to Ensley and Jace — who Jenelle shares with her ex, Andrew Lewis — the former TV star is mom to 9-year-old son Kaiser with her ex-husband, Nathan Griffith.

Jenelle’s lawyer recently told The US Sun that David has not tried to contact Ensley since their split.

US Sun reached out to David’s representative for comment but did not hear back.
