AMERICAN Idol returns tonight for a double elimination.
The Top 7 will take to the stage to perform hits from Adele as well as “Songs That Make Me Wanna Dance” before the pair head home tonight.
Ciara joins the show as tonight’s guest mentor, while Meghan Trainor returns as a guest star following her time as a guest mentor – leading some fans to believe she will replace Katy Perry when the judge leaves the show next season.
However, some viewers are divided over the theory, despite host Ryan Seacrest and judge Luke Bryan saying Meghan would be a “fun” replacement for the star.
“I bet she will replace Katy next year!!!!! That would be amazing,” one fan wrote on Instagram while another disagreed, saying, “Please don’t replace Katy with her…”
