ROLLER COASTER OF RANKINGS
American Pickers has been experiencing inconsistent ratings throughout its 25th season.
To date, the lowest rating of the season was just 774,000 viewers for the Valentine’s Day episode.
The highest viewership count of the season brought in 948,000 viewers on January 24.
American Pickers has been on the air for fourteen years and fans have received mixed reviews about the programming since the show fired original cast member Frank Fritz, 58.
Frank last appeared on the show in 2020 and was officially dropped in 2021.
US Sun previously revealed that Frank decided to distance himself from his co-host Mike and the show while recovering from back surgery.
In July 2022, Frank suffered a serious stroke and has been recovering in an assisted living center ever since.
‘TEDIOUS’
Fans have been complaining about the show’s recent “boring” storylines and features.
After the American Pickers Facebook account posted an open call for tours of private collections, fans expressed their opinions in the comments.
“Excited for the new episodes,” posted one enthusiast.
“There won’t be any,” countered one critic, “ratings have crashed through the floor.”
The History Channel has also been criticized by fans complaining about the show’s programming change.
It routinely aired on Wednesday nights, but recently moved to Thursdays.
“I was so upset,” one fan complained.
“I took Wednesday off to watch American Pickers on the History Channel, but they moved it to Thursday,” said the same user.
“No, the show really sucked now,” one reviewer posted.
END OF THE ROAD?
The US Sun previously reported that Mike and Robbie are considering ending the show.
“I don’t know how long the show will last,” a source previously said.
“I don’t know how long Mike and Robbie will want to do this,” the source continued, “I think they would like to retire at some point.”
“It’s a tension in your life [and] they’ve been doing this for a long time,” Mike’s friend revealed.
“When they’re around, ‘Oh, we’re on the road again. I don’t have time to do this, I don’t have time to do that,’” the source said.
“It’s love-hate like any job,” the source shared.
“Some days you don’t wish you had that job and you could do whatever you want; some days you are all excited about your work”, concluded the friend.
