HULU’S The Valley has been greenlit for a second season, and fans think it might not have happened without cast member Kristen Doute.
On Thursday, it was revealed that the Vanderpump Rules spin-off had been renewed and that everyone would be back for the next season.
The Valley, which premiered March 19, is led by former VPR stars Jax Taylor, 44, his ex-wife, Brittany Cartwright, 35, and Kristen, 41, who were booted from the Bravo show years earlier.
It follows their lives, among other things, as they navigate their careers, relationships, and friendships while living in the San Fernando Valley area of California.
After VPR saw a significant boost in viewership following the cheating scandal dubbed “Scandoval” involving co-stars Tom Sandoval, 40, Ariana Madix, 38, and Rachel Leviss, 29, fans were eager to tune in to the new spin off.
However, some believed that Kristen saved the show from cancellation as her “messy” behavior left them wanting more.
KRISTEN’S CORNER
“Everyone should thank Kristen for renewing season 2 #thevalley,” wrote one person on X, formerly Twitter following the news of the show’s renewal.
Another wrote, “Everyone in the cast of #TheValley needs to respect her name,” with a gif of Kristen posing on the red carpet.
“I don’t think they realize we’re all tuning in to see her and Jax mess up,” said a third.
“Doute has been the MVP since day one!!!” a quarter praised it.
“She is smarter than she acts. The show wouldn’t exist without her,” added a fifth.
Many fans wondered if the show would return, as two couples broke up shortly before the first season premiered.
In February, Jax and Brittany announced their separation after five years of marriage.
They are parents to a son, Cruz, whom they welcomed in April 2021.
The exes have been open about their split on and off the show, with Brittany saying in a recent episode that their finances have driven a huge wedge between them.
Another couple from The Valley who split was Michelle and Jesse Lally, whose marital struggles have been a major storyline on the show.

Despite the cast split, all members were invited back for Season 2, and rumors recently circulated that VPR veteran Lala Kent, 33, could join the group.
Fans predicted that VPR would soon be eliminated, especially after they delayed filming season 11.
Jax even criticized her previous show, calling it “scripted,” although lead Lisa Vanderpump, 63, applauded that that certainly wasn’t the case.
He also criticized the series, claiming that none of the cast members are friends despite being portrayed as such on camera.
As for The Valley, the premiere date for season 2 has not yet been announced, as there are only a few episodes left from the first season.
Other cast members from The Valley include Kristen’s boyfriend Luke Broderick, Danny and Nia Booko, Jason and Janet Caperno, and friends Jasmine Goode and Zach Wickham.
