KATY Perry pulled out all the stops for her penultimate episode as a judge on American Idol on Sunday night.

Katy, leaving after seven seasons at the end of next week, took to the stage blonde and opted for a jaw-dropping Cinderella outfit reveal.

American Idol returned tonight on ABC with the top five contestants performing at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

The Disney Night episode began with the judges singing You’ve Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story at Disneyworld.

Then, the broadcast cut to Katy, Lionel Richie and Luke Byran entering the main stage, and Katy delved into the topic.

Katy donned platinum blonde hair, as opposed to her expected brunette tresses.

But that wasn’t the only part of the look that impressed fans.

She pulled a ribbon from the back of her dress and did a 360-degree turn, suddenly becoming a glamorous Cinderella.

The quick-change moment referenced how the iconic Disney character transformed for prom in the classic film.

As Katy instantly transformed from one dress to a more regal, silver one, she was surrounded by glitter and the audience roared.

‘SHE IS AMAZING!’

“She ate it and there were no pumpkins left,” wrote a fan on X.

“Awwww she looks so beautiful,” wrote another.

“OMFG, no one will fill your gap on this show!”

“Oh, she’s amazing!!!” she wrote a fourth.

“Katy is REALLY committing to the Cinderella part and I love it!” she wrote a fifth.

FINAL FIVE

American Idol aired at 8pm ET on ABC and the finale will air next Sunday, May 20th at the same time.

The top 5 are Emmy Russell, Jack Blocker, Will Moseley, Abi Carter and Triston Harper.

Each of the five finalists sang songs from the Disney Songbook – and were mentored by Kane Brown.

Fans called Will’s performance pure magic and top three material.

However, Emmy sang a shaky version of Miley Cyrus’ The Climb, and her italicized singing style seemed overpowered by the music.

At several points, she was shrill, fans said, and couldn’t reach the highest notes.

The judges alluded to her not being the best performer in the competition in their critiques.

Luke said, “You’re just gaining confidence,” and Katy also said the song was a good fit for her as she is in a period of improvement.

Lionel said: “You were fantastic, I loved it.”

“All I’m saying is Emmy doesn’t need to be in the top 3 on #AmericanIdol,” one X user wrote.

“Emmy… it was really an escalation. But, being in the top 5, we shouldn’t be nervous and talk about confidence”, posted another.

A third called his interpretation “horrible.”

Once the performances are over, America will be able to vote for their top three contestants for the finale next week.

Actress and singer Jenifer Lewis also took to the stage to perform Dig a Little Deeper.

In the end, Jon Bon Jovi will mentor the Top 3 and, in typical Idol fashion, the winner will be crowned at the end of the episode.

IT’S REALLY OVER

During a February appearance on Jimmy Kimmel liveKaty revealed that she planned to leave Idol after this season to focus on her career.

“This fall, in September, I will have a big music festival in Brazil,” she said without warning on the talk show.

“So I think this will probably be my last season on Idol.”

Ryan recently opened up about the Firework singer’s impending departure and admitted he doesn’t know who will replace her.

“There are some people at the top of that short list who could be great,” Ryan said. Fox News about Katy’s possible replacement.

“We should make that decision soon, I hope.”

As for Katy, the future Wheel of Fortune host said we’ll miss her.

“[Katy] just brought an incredible generosity and love and a big heart, that kind of spirit to the show.

“Whoever comes in, we hope it has the same kind of impact,” concluded Ryan.

NO SUCH MAGIC MOMENTS

Katy received mixed reviews from fans about her judging on the show and her attitude towards the contestants.

Last year, Katy “mom shamed” a favorite contestant into dropping out.

Singer Sara-Beth Leiby revealed that she had three children at just 25 years old.

The judges were amazed by her vocal abilities and Katy shook her head as she revealed she was a mother of three.

Sarah-Beth joked: “If Katy lays down on the table I think I’ll pass out.”

“Three children?” Lionel asked.

But it was a comment from Katy that offended Sara Beth.

Katy told her, “Honey, you’ve been spending a lot of time lying on the table.”

Soon after, the competitor left the program because of the comment.

Katy also said she wanted to spend more time with her 3-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, 47.

Rumors have also circulated that Katy and Orlando are expecting their second child, although neither has addressed the conversation.
