REALITY star Joan Vassos has been chosen as the first Golden Bachelorette.
Joan appeared on ABC’s Golden Bachelor with leading man Gerry Turner, however, had to drop out in the third week to attend to a family emergency.
The network revealed its decision during Disney’s Upfront presentation on Tuesday.
Weeks later, during the Women Tell All, Joan spoke about her early exit and admitted that she felt there was some “unfinished business” between her and Gerry.
Joan had to leave the reality show to “be a mother” to her daughter, who was dealing with the consequences of a difficult cesarean section.
During her chat with Gerry, she revealed: “I got a text this morning and I think I need to go home and be a mum. I have to go home and be a father.”
Crying, Gerry admitted how “disappointed” he was to say goodbye.
“There is a moral compass that we both share and sometimes the right thing to do is the hardest thing to do,” he said.
