NETFLIX has released its newest documentary that features several celebrities who were outed during the Ashley Madison scandal.

The documentary series Ashley Madison: Sex, Lies & Scandal is based on the 2015 data breach that revealed celebrity marriages and affairs.

The online dating service was launched in 2001 and was marketed to individuals who wanted to have extramarital affairs.

Users were asked to create profiles and message others on the platform, for which they had to pay.

The Impact Team hacked the Ashley Madison database in 2015, collecting user information and payment details, for The New York Times.

After Ashley Madison refused to shut down its service, the hacker group released the site’s users’ information, which included names, emails, and home addresses.

The site had around 40 million users at the time.

The new Netflix documentary highlighted some celebrity names that were revealed during the breach, which happened almost a decade ago.

However, some celebrities have remained married to their partners despite being publicized on the affair search website.

JOSH AND ANNA DUGGAR

Josh Duggar, who rose to fame on his family’s TLC show 19 Kids and Counting, was one of the high-profile figures whose Ashley Madison account details were revealed.

Josh’s name and address were linked to an account, which said he was looking for “conventional sex, experimenting with sex toys, one-night stands, sharing fantasies, talking about sex,” according to the website. Daily Mail.

At the time, Josh released a statement on his family’s website to apologize for his actions.

Another celebrity mentioned in the documentary was Jionni LaValle, married to Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi since 2014.

The pair met on Nicole’s MTV reality show Jersey Shore and had three children.

Although Jionni’s name was allegedly linked to an Ashley Madison account, his wife defended him and quickly shut down the allegations.

Christian YouTuber Sam Rader also appeared in the documentary alongside his wife Nia.

Sam admitted to being active on the dating site, which he said he created two years before hackers leaked users’ information.

“As you may have seen, my name was associated with an Ashley Madison account,” Sam said in a statement. YouTube video at the time.

“This is an issue that is in our past. This was before I got into YouTube.

“This was brought to my wife’s attention. She forgave me for this mistake I made in opening the account,” he added in the post. video now private.

OTHER CELEBRITIES INCLUDED

Other prominent figures associated with Ashley Madison accounts included Hunter Biden and Jeff Ashton.

“I am certain the account in question is not mine,” Hunter said in a statement to ABC news. “This account was clearly created by someone else without my knowledge.”

He added that he has stopped using the email address linked to the account and believes the site was unable to authenticate him.

Hunter also said his identity had previously been misused in an attempt to tarnish his reputation.

Hunter was married to Kathleen Buhle at the time, whom he later divorced in 2017, before remarrying Melissa Cohen Biden in 2019.

Florida State Attorney Jeff was also involved in the scandal and asked for a pardon in 2015.

Jeff, who became famous for his role in Casey Anthony murder case, told CNN“Two years ago, I was curious about the Ashley Madison website and used my personal credit card to sign up for the site.

“I deeply regret my affiliation with the website, which has caused my wife and children a lot of stress and suffering,” he added.
