The Dark Horse singer served seven seasons on the panel with fellow judges Luke Bryan, 47, and Lionel Richie, 74.
Katy, 39, showed off her keen fashion sense, which received mixed results from fans and critics.
YOUR WARDROBE
In mid-April, when the top 20 candidates were announced, the pop star took the stage in a sheer, floor-length black dress with a glittering silver crisscross design.
The dress had giant gray and black pompoms scattered throughout.
Her hair was slicked back into a tight updo.
Katy called her co-star and said, “And Luke said I look like the inside of a car wash.”
“Looks like Katy Perry was attacked by a bunch of Velcro poodles,” said one person.
“That’s the dress, Katy,” another person added.
In mid-May, Katy surprised audiences with the reveal of her jaw-dropping Cinderella outfit.
She swapped her black hair for platinum blonde locks as she transformed into the popular Disney character.
“Katy REALLY committed to the Cinderella part, and I love it!” one commentator applauded.
Katy’s wildest outbursts came from her response to the eager contestants who auditioned for the singing competition.
BE A BULLY?
In early March 2023, viewers criticized Katy for allegedly being a bully to contestant Sara Beth Liebe.
The TV star seemed indifferent to the mother of three’s emotional story.

Sara was pushed to her limits as she sang Amy Winehouse’s You Know I’m No Good, failed to impress Katy and Elton John’s Bennie and the Jets song.
“I feel like a comic book character came to life,” Katy said after Sara finished performing.
“Look, if it’s not your dream, you won’t get far,” Katy said.
“I also respect everyone who walks through that door and gives their life for that golden ticket.”
“Katy Perry being a bad girl to Sara Beth,” noted one viewer.
“Like, damn – you’re not pretty enough to do that, Katy. Come back to reality.”

In addition to being a prankster — like when she fell out of her chair while wearing her Little Mermaid costume in May 2022 — there were moments on the show where Katy demonstrated a softer, more vulnerable side.
In late April, the pop singer burst into tears after watching an emotional performance.
Emmy Russell, 25 – granddaughter of the late singer Loretta Lynn – sang a member of her family’s song Coal Miner’s Daughter.
“I love singing from the heart. I think this is a perfect song for that,” Emily shared.
“I mean, it’s my grandmother’s music, it can’t get much closer to the heart than your own blood.”
“I chose this song because you are Emmy Russell and now you can do anything like Emmy Russell,” Katy admitted.
NEW SONG?
Leaving American Idol, however, does not mean that the TV personality has left the spotlight.
In early May, Katy revealed that she skipped the 2024 Met Gala event, The Garden of Time, to sing new songs into a studio microphone.
In the studio, she wore a skin-tight black corset top with a plunging neckline and zipper.
