The three-hour finale airs on Sunday and the show will say goodbye to Katy, 39.

The American Idol judge opened up about what her emotions will be in a new interview with KABC.

“I think I’ll cry over anything,” Katy told the channel.

“It’s been a beautiful journey and I love watching these kids grow into one big, beautiful patchwork.”

She also said she thinks the top three – Will Moseley, Jack Blocker and Abi Carter – are all deserving and “ready to go.”

Luke, 47, added that it will be an emotional night as they have developed a close friendship.

Lionel, 74, said Katy’s departure will be “scary and sad”.

“But at the same time… hold on to your seat! She roars at herself, no pun intended,” he said.

Host Ryan Seacrest said Katy will take the stage and it will be “a moment.”

“It will be especially meaningful to be his last performance,” Ryan, 49, told the outlet.

IT’S REALLY OVER

Katy first revealed she was leaving Idol in February.

She appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and made the shocking announcement.

“This fall, in September, I’m doing a big music festival in Brazil called Rock in Rio,” said the mother of one.

“So I think this will probably be my last season on Idol.”

The crowd gasped and Katy said she loves Idol so much, but needs to “feel the pulse of her own beat.”

Jimmy, 56, asked Katy if Lionel and Luke knew, and she said they would find out that night.

Rumors are circulating about who will replace Katy, as they have not yet been named.

After their performance in May, Ryan and Luke said Meghan would be a “fun replacement.”

“I think Meghan has always been a lot of fun,” said Luke Entertainment tonight.

“You know, that’s been her brand, to have fun. [She’s] very witty then indeed.

Ryan added: “She was really good. Meghan is also a super talent and has a great sense of humor. She’s fun and spontaneous.”

Shortly after Katy’s announcement, season 6 winner Jordin Sparks, 34, expressed interest in the role.

“Oh hi @AmericanIdol – I heard a spot opened up at the judges’ table! I’m throwing my name in the hat,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Some fans believe that Jennifer Lopez could return to the judges’ table.

She was a judge in seasons 10 and 11 and later returned in seasons 13, 14 and 15.

However, in April, Katy joked that she would only leave Idol “for now” as she focuses on music and touring.
