AMERICAN Idol fans think they may have discovered the show’s final judge.
American Idol aired the season 22 finale on Sunday and featured Fantasia Barrino, 39, as a special guest.
Fantasia gained fame on the television show 20 years ago and returned to give advice to the finalists.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, fans thought the timing of Fantasia’s return was no coincidence.
Katy Perry, 39, left the show and many viewers quickly thought Fantasia would be a perfect replacement.
“Will she replace @katyperry,” one person asked.

“We’ll see,” a Fantasia fan account responded, along with shifty-eyed emojis.
“FANTASIA IS REPLACING KATY PERRY ON IDOL??????” a third social media user asked.
“Okay, so Katy Perry leaving American Idol? I think it would be decent to get an alum as a judge. Fancy, Jennifer HudsonJordan Sparks or even Tamyra Gray,” another fan shared.
“I think Ryan Seacrest I just gave it away, looking more and more like Fantasia will replace Katy Perry,” said a fifth.
“Fantasia should be chosen to replace @katyperry on @AmericanIdol. Since its inception, she has been the talent/artist who most defines what American Idol ‘should be’. And pay her Katy’s salary or more,” said one final commenter.
MOTHER’S DUTIES
Katy promised leaving the show would free up time for her to make music, but fans think she may have another priority.
Katy began dating Orlando Bloom, 47, in 2016, and the couple welcomed a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, 3, after getting engaged on Valentine’s Day 2019.
Now fans think Katy could be pregnant again after a celebrity said she was ready to add to her family
“With both of them working so much on projects, family time is also very precious.”
“She talked about wanting more to sleep and feeling a lot more emotional than usual this season,” the source said.

FAN FURY
In addition to fan speculation about Katy’s replacement, many expressed their anger at the final outcome of season 22.
Abi Carter took home the title on Sunday, defeating Top 3 finalists Will Moseley and Jack Blocker.
However, many viewers were unhappy with the result and accused the program of being rigged.
“Will should have won. He will have a better career,” wrote one person on X.
“There’s no way Abi Carter is better than Will and I’m not even one Country music fan! What a farce!” said a second.
