On Monday, Carrie, 41, posted a photo of herself during the audition phase of the singing competition on Instagram.

In the photo, the Before He Cheats singer was shown talking on her cell phone while displaying a tag with her contestant number.

She wore period-appropriate curly blonde hair and a pink, off-the-shoulder blouse.

Carrie captioned the post: “REFLECTION of the Week: Contestant #14887 received her golden ticket to Hollywood! I can’t believe it’s been almost 20 years since auditioning for @AmericanIdol! #ReflectionOfTheWeek.”

The eight-time Grammy winner received her golden ticket when she performed I Can’t Make You Love Me for original American Idol judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.

In the comments section, one fan wrote, “I was 6 years old watching Idol with my dad for the first time. It was during that audition that I told you that you would win everything.

“My dad said we’ll see. And when the finals came, I was so excited to see you win. You’ll always be my favorite American Idol!!”

Another fan chimed in, writing, “Best American Idol contestant and WINNER ever!

However, in a updated photo from social mediafans claimed they couldn’t recognize the Good Girl singer’s appearance.

One reviewer wrote, “It looks like she’s had work done. It doesn’t look the same. Why can’t they just be who they are naturally?”

“Is this AI or has it gone down the plastic surgery rabbit hole?” questioned another.

A third commenter asked: “Who is that in the photo? AI working overtime.”

“I didn’t even recognize you. You’ve always been stunning but this barely looks like you,” a fourth commented.

“We need more naturalness. I thought it was AI”, complained a fifth.

“I literally didn’t recognize her. Wow,” added another.

AMERICAN IDOL

Carrie is one of the most recognized singers in country music.

On May 25, 2005, Carrie was crowned the winner of the fourth season of American Idol.

The then-unknown contestant won around 37 million votes from Idol viewers.

As mentioned, she was first selected to compete by the show’s judges after impressing them during the Idol audition rounds with a rendition of Bonnie Raitt’s I Can’t Make You Love Me.

Years later, while reflecting on her achievement that caught the attention of millions of people, Carrie shared with her fans via Instagram: “I took one more look at the incredible crowd and let it sink in for a few seconds.

“Ryan said something like ‘and your 2005 American Idol is…’ My heart beat fast and I closed my eyes.

“The crowd went crazy. I immediately started crying. It was a beautiful moment.

“All the other contestants were sent to hug me. I cried the whole time.”

She said pop entertainment“I never knew what to expect, but it really exceeded any expectations I could have had.

“Yes, it is very surreal. It was one of those moments that I feel like I will remember forever.

“It was amazing to have all those months of work and be on TV and do things every week and all those nerves and everything – just, wow, it’s over.”

A few months after her victory, Carrie released her debut album Some Hearts on November 11, 2005.

IDOLS FEUD

Carrie and Kelly Clarkson gained fame after competing on American Idol.

Over the years, fans of Carrie and Kelly have claimed that there have been fights between them.

The two faced each other several times and many media outlets claimed that this caused a feud.

The rumors date back to 2016, when a supposed source told Radar Online that Carrie “threw a fit” after Kelly was asked to do a solo on American Idol for her, according to Nicki Swift.

At the time, the supposed source said, “Carrie caused some serious drama with the final production of the show because she freaked out about being stuck in a duet. [with Keith Urban] when she has a tour and so many things to promote right now.”

A year later, another source claimed that Carrie was upset again after Kelly was chosen to be a coach on The Voice.

“Carrie was jealous that Kelly had gotten a coaching job on The Voice that she felt should have been hers,” the source said.

The source added, “And Kelly has always been jealous of the fact that Carrie is Idol’s best-selling idol.”

At first, Carrie and Kelly ignored the feud rumors, but in 2018, the Since U Been Gone singer finally put them to rest by taking a photo with her on the red carpet at the Radio Disney Music Awards.

“Everyone always tries to pit Carrie and me against each other,” Clarkson recalled during an interview with Entertainment tonight.

“So when I saw her, I was like, ‘You know what? Let’s end this now and take a photo together, because we are never in the same place.’

And, like, that never happens. And people always try to lump everything together as if we were enemies.

And I say, ‘We don’t even know each other well enough to be enemies.’

So anyway, I went to take a picture and everyone went crazy.”

Clarkson joked about the beef rumors again in 2019, sharing a photo on X, formerly Twitter, of a tabloid cover that claimed she was feuding with Underwood.

“Someone just sent me this and I ask why [Carrie Underwood] take the good photo and I have the worst expression I have ever made without any muscle being used on my face ha! Officially, I have a feud with whoever used this photo! Clarkson wrote.

While some may still claim that the two stars are feuding, there is no proof that any of these claims are true.
