VANDERPUMP Rules star Bock Davies confessed he filmed the show for free when he joined the cast.

Bravo boss Andy Cohen, 55, mentioned Brock’s salary during VPR’s three-part reunion special for season 11.

It happened while Andy was discussing Ariana Madix’s boyfriend Daniel Wai’s limited involvement in filming.

Ariana, 38, noted that her boyfriend didn’t want to be part of the show, despite making a brief appearance via Facetime in a recent episode.

She also said that Daniel, 41, was not being paid to film, which made him uninterested in participating.

However, Andy countered his statement and pointed out that his co-star, Brock, 34, wasn’t making any money during his early days on the show.

“Brock wasn’t paid at first and was hanging around,” Andy said, directing his attention to Scheana Shay’s husband.

The New Zealand-born star didn’t deny that the network was bilking him out of his paycheck and nodded in agreement.

WHEN EVERYTHING STARTED

Brock joined the VPR cast during season 9 following his engagement to Scheana.

The couple married in August 2023 with their now 3-year-old daughter Summer Moon as a flower girl.

Bravo cameras were present at the nuptials and later aired the show.

Fans were shocked by the news that Brock wasn’t being paid a dime to appear on VPR at first and expressed their thoughts on social media.

“Admitting that Brock sat on that show and didn’t get paid is truly embarrassing. Where is the shame? From both of them,” one viewer wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“Even Jersey housewives have enough business acumen to get their man paid,” another person commented, mentioning the Real Housewives of New Jersey, of which several key cast members are a part.

“He filmed all those scenes in his first season and didn’t get paid? Then he filmed less in his second season because he made a fool of himself. So this is his first season getting paid???” a third fan wondered.

Meanwhile, others defended Brock and praised him for making a smart career decision.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 Cast

Vanderpump Rules returned to Bravo for one of its most explosive seasons following the fallout from Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix’s relationship.

Returning cast members

  • Lisa Vanderpump returns as one of the original castmates and serves as the group’s mentor and confidant.
  • Ariana Madix returns hurt after her ex, Tom Sandoval, cheated on her.
  • James Kennedy has been expanding his DJ career and recently moved in with his girlfriend, Ally.
  • Katie Maloney is working hard to open her diner with Ariana as she navigates life post-divorce.
  • Lala Kent began an unexpected friendship with Tom Schwartz, which caused a rift between her and the rest of the girls.
  • Scheana Shay is living a married life with Brock and a son as they come out of their honeymoon period.
  • Tom Sandoval has been trying to work on himself and start repairing his broken relationships.
  • Tom Schwartz adopts a new appearance change as he receives blows for helping his friend Tom with his affair with Ariana.

New cast members

  • Ally Lewber is focusing on becoming an astronomer and trying to find friendships in the group after she and James embrace suburban life.
  • Brock Davies has been testing new dynamics as a family man

“I really like him. Good for him to take the opportunity to come out and potentially have doors open for him in show business,” praised one fan.

I think it was a bet to help [Scheana’s] storyline and put it in the show. He’s a cast member now so I’d say it was worth it,” said another.

“How is that embarrassing? It’s like that for everyone, whether you’re a significant other, or a friend of…until you’re seen as long-term, and then possibly becoming a cast member. Brock isn’t the first, it won’t even be the last. That’s how reality shows work,” commented a third.

In March, former Bachelor contestant Nick Viall, 43, Scheana and Brock “practiced scenes” to get more air time.

Competing for prominence

“I’m sure Brock and Scheana practice their scenes,” Nick said on his podcast The Viall files.

“I don’t even say that with criticism. I think they want to be part of the story, so they force the stories.”

VPR is currently on hiatus from filming season 12 as ratings have been tough for the long-running series.

During an exclusive interview with The US Sun earlier this month, VPR frontwoman Lisa Vanderpump, 63, assured fans that the show “will be back” due to the explosive drama it has featured in recent seasons.
