CHIP and Joanna Gaines were criticized by HGTV fans after they destroyed a glass wall in a preview for their new show.
The couple is renovating a house on their new show, Fixer Upper: The Lakehouse.
“It’s a #DemoDay role reversal, and @joannagaines is a natural!” they captioned it publish.
“Watch the premiere of #FixerUpperTheLakehouse tonight at 8/7c on #MagnoliaNetwork and @HGTV.”
In the promotional clip, Chip, 49, is heard saying that after 10 years of doing the dirty work, it’s finally Joanne’s turn.
They clean a dirty pool full of muddy water and leaves.

The video cuts to Joanna, 46, knocking down a glass wall with a hammer.
She hits the square pieces one by one while Chip cheers her on in the background.
The glass gets everywhere, even shooting straight into the camera.
About half the wall is torn down at the end of the clip.
It then ends with Joanna climbing into the empty pool and pulling out sticks and other items.
‘THIS IS SAD!’
HGTV fans were cringing at the beautiful glass going to waste.
“That’s sad because of the glass. REPUTITIVE, perhaps?” one Instagram user wrote.
“I agree! I can’t watch,” said another.
“The glasses can be reused in other ways, such as donating them to those who work with stained glass or vases, for example,” added a third.
“Maybe they should start recycling the old and updating with the new and showing how the old updated something else,” said one fan.

“Really! These retro blocks are worth money. There are people renovating houses who could use them,” wrote another fan.
“YES! Why break that beautiful glass? It’s retro and it can be modern,” said an HGTV observer.
“It always saddens me to see all these home improvement programs destroying instead of reusing or donating,” one final fan wrote.
THE LAKE HOUSE
Chip and Joanna decided to celebrate Fixer Upper’s 10-year anniversary with this new spinoff show.
Fixer Upper The Lakehouse focuses on the couple who are renovating a lake house in Lake Waco, Texas.
