Richard Goodall is living his dreams
Richard told the judges during his audition that he wanted to be a singer, but he needed to be practical and find a job.
“Eventually, I thought, I managed to find a job, so I became a custodian at Chauncey Rose Middle School, which is just three blocks from my house,” he said.
“The children heard me sing and told me I had talent. That’s why I’m here. That’s why I got on a plane.”

What to know about the golden buzzer
The America’s Got Talent Golden Buzzer sends a contestant straight to the live performances.
This means that the contestant can skip the other rounds of the competition.
When the golden buzzer is pressed by one of the AGT judges, the stage background and red ‘X’ buzzer light up gold.
To add an extra special touch, golden confetti also rains down on the stage.
This season, there are a total of nine Golden Buzzers to be used.
