Traitors viewers ‘really like’ the new cast – but say certain famous contestant would be better off on Claim to Fame

THE TRAITORS viewers revealed that they like the newly announced cast, but mentioned that a contestant would be better off on Claim to Fame.

On Wednesday, host Alan Cumming, 59, revealed the season 3 cast in an exclusive clip aired on The Today Show.

On June 5, the two-time Tony Award winner sat in the Scottish mansion where The Traitors is set and announced the 21 people competing during its third season on a folded scroll.

“The new season of The Traitors cast is finally unlocked,” Alan said before reading each contestant’s name.

The list included Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval, 41, Survivor alum Rob Mariano, 48, Britney Spears’ ex-husband Sam Asghari, 30, former WWE star Nikki Garcia, 40, and to the surprise of some fans, Dylan Efron, 32.

Dylan is the brother of actor Zac Efron, 36, and appeared on the latter’s reality show Down to Earth with Zac Efron.

On X, formally Twitter, fans of the competition series reacted to the announcement when one fan wrote: “Wait, Britney’s ex!?

“Why doesn’t Zac efron’s brother claim fame?? haha”, asked another.

They continued: “Now this guy is going to have to go around telling everyone he’s Zac Efron’s brother.”

The “who is Dylan” sentiment continued when a third person tweeted: “wait, now I’m digging deeper…Zac Efron’s brother????? he got lost on the way to the fame mansion, like what is he doing here????”

A fourth commenter asked, “How can we get Britney’s ex and Zac Efron’s brother to claim fame and ditch them for LC and Logan?”

“I would say that Zac Efron’s brother should have waited to claim fame, but he kind of looks too much like him, they would have noticed that right away.“, considered another.

TAKE IT OUT

While many fans seemed perplexed by Dylan’s inclusion, some revealed they were downright annoyed that Tom Sandoval will have more screen time.

On X, Traitor fans didn’t hold back their contempt for the Bravo star.

“I swear if Tom freaking Sandoval is in The Traitors season 3 and/or doesn’t get killed first I’m going to be so mad,” one person said.

“Traitor or not, EVERYONE needs to come together first and get rid of Sandoval the mustachioed worm!!!!”

“I don’t want to see him on my screen EVER!! I can see him now in Traitors trying to convince others that he KNOWS EVERYTHING!! Do the watchers a favor SEND HIM PACKAGE!!!” a second person became enraged.

“The ONLY good one on this rumored list is Britney. Nobody wants to see Sandoval again,” echoed a third social media user.

“Sandoval better be eliminated first if he’s on this season of The Traitors,” wrote a fourth.

“I hoped and prayed that someone from Vanderpump would be on The Traitors… but I didn’t think it would be HIM, I’m sick of his face, hell, I’d even get Schwartz on the show before Sandoval,” blasted a final commentator.

Tom is a controversial figure due to last year’s drama Scandoval

In March 2023, it was discovered that he was unfaithful to his longtime girlfriend and VPR co-star, Ariana Madix, 38.

Tom cheated on Ariana with his co-star Rachel Leviss, who has now taken Tom and Ariana to court for their actions during the affair.

Tom lost many fans throughout the case, being accused of offending Ariana.

The reality TV star has moved on with his new girlfriend Victoria Lee Robinson, but many fans haven’t forgiven his past transgressions.

THE TRAITORS

The Traitors is a reality show where contestants “murder” and “ban” each other to be the last to win the money at the end.

Three contestants will be chosen to be Traitors, while the rest will be Faithful.

Alan will return to host the Peacock show, but other than the host and 21 contestants, no other details have been announced yet – including the launch date.

The identity of the Traitors will be revealed in the premiere.

TRAITORS SEASON 3 CAST

Host Alan Cumming promised: “This will certainly be the most treacherous season yet.”

The cast, separated into Faithful and Traitors, compete in challenges to build the prize.

Between missions, competitors try to determine who is a Traitor and who is not.

They vote to banish one person from the Round Table and another is “murdered” the next morning at breakfast until only a handful remain.

The first season featured a mix of celebrities and everyday people.

Survivor and Big Brother star Cirie Fields was the sole winner and took home $250,000.

She deceived everyone and no one believed that she was a traitor.

Big Brother’s Cody Calafiore, The Bachelorette’s Arie Luyendyk Jr. and veteran Christian de la Torre were also cheaters.

In Season 2, the Faithful eliminated all Traitors.

The Challenge’s Chris “CT” Tamburello and Trishelle Cannatella won and split $208,100.

Last season’s Traitors were Big Brother’s Dan Gheesling, Survivor’s Parvati Shallow and The Real Housewife of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks.
