Tom, 69, won the Sam Rubin Award at the 6th Annual Critics Choice Real TV Awards in Los Angeles, California on Saturday, June 15.

While there, AND! News I interviewed him about his time on DWTS.

He joked that the paycheck is what he misses most about his time on the show.

“There are some people I miss, but I’m really glad I’m not hosting,” Tom admitted.

The former host also admitted that he never watched DWTS.

“To be honest, I never watched it when I was hosting it,” Tom told the outlet.

“I watched it while I was there, obviously, but I never watched it as a TV show.”

Tom has hosted the dance competition, which pairs professional dancers with celebrity contestants, for 15 years.

DANCE OUTSIDE

Tom and co-host Erin Andrews were fired from DWTS in 2020.

Tom has hosted every season of the show since then, with different co-hosts over the years.

Tyra Banks was criticized by fired DWTS host Tom Bergeron in a scathing new interview after she took over his role on the show

“I just informed you that @DancingABC will continue without me,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter, at the time.

“It was an incredible 15 years and the most unexpected gift of my career. I am grateful for this and for the friendships made throughout my life. That being said, now what am I supposed to do with all these shiny masks?”

Tom wanted to take a season off after objecting to the hiring of former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer as a contestant on the show.

However, the producers decided to let him go.

Tom and Erin were replaced by Tyra Banks, who faced a lot of backlash.
