The Challenge Reveals Season 40 Cast With Classic Stars As Fans Beg For ‘Real Eliminations’ After Backlash

THE Challenge has announced the cast for season 40, revealing that classic cast members from the past will return.

Fans are eager to see CT Tamburello, Mark Long and other MTV notables back on their TV screens, but expect at least some changes when the competitive series returns.

The Challenge will return to MTV this summer with a huge cast.

Season 40 will be a Battle of the Ages and will bring together 40 players from previous iterations of the show to compete for their share of the $1 million prize pool.

The full cast, announced on Monday, will include 10 contestants from each season.

There will be a mix of recent All Stars, iconic players and even some stars that fans haven’t seen on their screens in a while.

CT, along with Jodi Weatherton, Darrell Taylor and Rachel Robinson will compete in the Era 1 group.

Era 2 includes Aviv Melmed, Emily Schromm and Cara Maria Sorbello.

Tori Deal, Leroy Garrett, Jordan Wiseley, Nurys Mateo and Michele Fitzgerald will appear on the Era 3 and 4 teams.

The network says of the upcoming series, “their path to glory is far from easy, as they must first compete in the Era Invitational and eliminate the weakest links from their own Challenge Era, as only the best will earn a coveted spot in your team. .”

“With new challenges and relentless twists and turns, these seasons veterans are perpetually kept on their toes in the game they thought they had mastered,” they added.

No further details have been revealed about what fans should expect when they tune in to season 40.

Still, fans are making suggestions, with some complaining about the lack of “real eliminations” in previous seasons.

“Please have real eliminations and a real physical final. Let’s leave the carnival at home,” one critical viewer wrote in the comments on an Instagram post about the cast of season 40 of The Challenge.

“I really hope we have real challenges this season and not this mess you guys are making,” posted another.

“My kids could do what you’re asking my favorites!”

“I just hope this one has real challenges, especially at the end!!!! Laura Victor was SO wrong!!! I miss the hardcore finals… Would love to see Wes, Banans and Jordan this season too.”

“Thank God they’re bringing back the OG players… now we can get back to physical finals and get rid of those sissy finals puzzles. But just keep them in checkpoints and not elimination games,” a fourth fan suggested.

“The originals, the goats. Finally give the fans what they want. This is going to be a great season,” someone else shared.

CT’S PERSONAL CHALLENGE

This season marks CT’s first appearance on The Challenge since his split from Lilianet Solares.

The MTV personality filed for divorce in November 2022 after four years of marriage.

In April 2023, Lilianet filed an emergency request for sole custody of her son.

His request was denied, however.

Amid the drama with his ex, CT suggested returning to The Challenge.

At the time, he told fans that he was embarking on a fitness journey with the goal of “going from being a fat idiot to maybe being ready for The Challenge.”

“I don’t know,” he said on social media.

“Look, I’m not saying…never say never, okay? I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the Challenge sometimes.”

He noted in his video that he was “offered” opportunities to return to the competition series, adding that “it just wasn’t the right time because of everything that’s going on.”

“But with all these spinoffs coming and going, I might have to pick up that bag,” he said, referring to the expansion of The Challenge franchise to include shows like The Challenge: All Stars and The Challenge: World Champions.

“Maybe. Maybe not. I don’t know.”

CT was first introduced to The Challenge viewers in 2003 when he appeared on The Real World: Paris.

He went on to be a regular on The Challenge, winning five times and appearing on 19 seasons.

He is believed to have brought home $1,365,000 in winnings over the years.
