Abi Carter’s emotional performance in Welcome to the Black Parade left Katy Perry wiping away tears as fans on social media were left shaken by the powerful cover.
“ABI’S MCR COVER WAS INSANE, I’M SHOCKED,” a viewer reacted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I said it during her audition and I’ll say it again, Abi could be the biggest star on American Idol,” another he wrote with the other added“Abi Carter’s performance is bringing me to tears.”

McKenna said she “screamed” when she saw Zach Bryan and Dolly Parton reacting to the video of her audition.
“It feels like I’m on a rainbow,” McKenna said, adding that she feels like her “heart is overflowing.”
McKenna is singing Both Sides Now by Joni Mitchell.

Will Moseley gets it
Will Moseley is the next finalist!
During his package, Will confessed that he actually has a degree in biology.
After graduating, he gave himself a year to try out music before getting a “real job.”
Will revealed that he had a hit country song that was on the charts behind Beyoncé and ahead of Luke Combs.
“It looks very promising that we will give the second year a chance,” said the competitor.

American Idol alum Lauren Spencer-Smith is singing her hit Fingers Crossed.
Lauren competed on the 18th season of the show and made it to the Top 20!
Lauren is now working on her second album.

She’s singing Welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance.
She is dedicating the performance to her grandparents.

Nya is singing Georgia on My Mind by Ray Charles in a sparkly gold dress.

KB struggles for performance
In the middle of her original song, Kaibrienne appeared to forget a lyric or note and stopped in the middle of a phrase before repeating it.
The accident happened again in the chorus – and the audience cheered for her to continue.
Judge Lionel Richie shouted, “Come on, keep going!”
The judges gave her a standing ovation after the performance.

Kaibrienne Richins made it into the Top 20.
KB will sing his first original song in the competition.
During her package, she revealed that she played wrestling and football growing up.
“All of this prepared me for this moment here,” KB said.

Quintavian manages to pass
After snubbing Tori Kelly’s song for her Top 24 performance, Quintavious is now singing Hollow for her Top 20 victory lap.
The worship pastor connects to music because of his relationship with his church — and he says he wants to “make them proud.”

Jordan has a stage flaw
While Jordan Anthony sang Billie Eilish’s When The Party’s Over on the piano, his microphone fell out.
The 19-year-old fixed it quickly and continued with the music.
“I had to work it out,” he told Ryan Seacrest after the performance.
The judges were impressed with her ability to keep going and Katy Perry said it was one of her favorite performances of the night.

Odell starts to cry
After Odell Bunton Jr. performed a Teddy Swims song, Teddy Swims joked that he was going to pull that song from his set because Odell blew it up.
Lionel Richie told Odell he could feel he was singing to his children – and Odell bent down as he began to sob.
Before leaving the stage, he looked at the camera and promised his children, through tears, that he was doing everything for them.

Triston is singing an original song tonight – and his mom is shown singing every word in the audience.
“It’s really remarkable to watch you,” said Luke Bryan after the powerful performance.
“I believe this is what you will do for the rest of your life.”
