AMERICA’S Got Talent judges and audience participated in an act wearing underwear on their heads.
Fans consider the reasoning for the act “dumb,” as everyone on the show participated.
During Tuesday night’s America’s Got Talent auditions, Australian Nick Manning attempted to break the Guinness World Record.
His initial attempt was to have “the most underwear worn in 30 seconds”, but he failed to break the record.
AGT host Terry Crews recommended that they could break another record.
The attempt was to get most of the people in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium to wear underwear on their heads for one minute.
The audience shouted for judge Simon Cowell to wear it, whereupon he pulled the underwear over his head while peering through one of the leg holes.
Howie Mandel also put his underwear on his head.
Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum chose not to put their underwear entirely on their heads.
Instead, they both folded their panties and placed them over their scalps.
As the majority of the public followed the judges’ league, a judge from the Guinness Book of World Records was there to verify the attempt.
According to the judge, 1,206 people wore underwear on their heads, surpassing the previous record of 355.
FANS UNIMPRESSED
Although many participated in breaking a new record, the fans who watched were not impressed.
Spectators took to social media to give their opinions on the record-breaking act.
“That was so stupid,” said one fan on Instagram.
“That was stupid. Waste of time leaving these types of ‘acts’ on the program”, wrote another.
“What a shame!! There are so many talented people out there waiting for an opportunity and at auditions, and we – judges and audience – wasting our time watching this stupid thing!!!” said a third.
In addition to the fans, the jurors were also not easily influenced by the acts.
“I didn’t think it was too difficult to break that record, to be honest with you,” Simon said.
America’s Got Talent judges
THOUSANDS of candidates took to the America’s Got Talent stage to show off their skills.
Keidi agreed, saying, “We definitely haven’t had an act like this before, but I feel like putting underwear on your head isn’t a talent for all of us.”
Ultimately, Nick was sent home.
BLAND SEASON
Nick’s audition isn’t the first time fans have been bored by the show’s auditions.
Earlier this month, viewers were frustrated with some of the acts featured on the show.
Some of the acts included auditioning a woman dressed in a tiger onesie who told some jokes.
Another was of a man singing dressed in an owl costume.
Fans took to X to share their thoughts, saying, “This season sucks.”
They continued: “Good deeds are bad and bad deeds aren’t even funny, they’re just sad and bad.”
