THE Voice alum Blake Shelton confessed he has no regrets about leaving the singing competition as a coach in 2023.

However, Blake explained that while he was pleased with his choice, he would be willing to change his mind if a major change were to happen on The Voice in the future.

The 47-year-old country music star made his mark on the NBC show as he was there from its debut season until his departure last year.

When the show began, The Voice coaches included Blake, Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera and Cee-Lo Green.

The four award-winning artists brought the show to life, helping to build its popularity, along with the talented contestants who competed.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Blake admitted that he missed training with the aforementioned stars.

His revelation came after Entertainment Tonight asked the Ol’ Red singer about the possibility of him returning to The Voice as a coach.

“I miss the people. “I mean, these people have become like family to me, literally from the crew to the producers of the show,” Blake told the outlet.

“I was with them more than with my family… I miss that,” he added.

Although Blake misses his famous former colleagues, he doesn’t “miss work.”

‘I needed a break’

He further explained: “I totally needed a break because if I didn’t enjoy it, it wouldn’t be good for whoever was on my team.

I don’t want to be someone who is just following the rules. These artists need someone to fight for them.”

Blake disclosed that he realized he “needed [to get] away from” The Voice when he couldn’t “remember what station it was” during his tenure.

While he remains firm in his decision to leave, the original The Voice coaching team being brought back may change their minds.

“If they could ever get the four original coaches back together, maybe [I’d return] for a single season,” said Blake.

“That would be fun for me… It would be something I would be interested in doing.”

NOT ALL BAD

Although it was difficult for Blake regarding his departure, he benefited greatly from being on the show.

The Voice connected him with his now-wife, Gwen Stefani, 54.

He met her when she joined the series as a trainer in season 7.

They started dating in 2015 while they were both getting divorced, got engaged in 2020, and jumped the broom in 2021.

“The first season she was on The Voice, we met [but] we didn’t really talk much,” he recalled to Entertainment Tonight.

He continued: “If you had told me in the first season we met that this was going to happen, I would have thought, ‘No, we actually have nothing to talk about.

What are you talking?’ It’s crazy how things work.”
