On Tuesday, General Hospital fans were shocked to hear that the show would recast a beloved character in a shocking decision.

Emme Rylan, 43, who plays Lulu Spencer, will not return to the soap.

The Bring It On: All or Nothing actress confirmed the news on her Instagram Stories.

She wrote: “Yes, it’s true. GH decided to recast Lulu.

“Although I’m very disappointed in their choice, I’m happy to finally have closure. (And thank God GH brought all of you fabulous people into my life! Love you!).

In a later social media post, Emme made necklaces with her daughter to distract herself from the sad news.

The Hollywood actress shares three children with her partner Don Money.

Emme has played Lulu since 2013, but has not appeared on the show since 2020.

Following the shocking news, fans flooded Emme’s most recent Instagram post with loving messages and their outrage over the big change.

“I already hate the new Lulu because she’s not Emme Rylan.”

Another said: “It’s so ridiculous that they recast you. It’s a mess in that place. They keep recasting iconic roles and it’s making me furious.

Emme Marcy Rylan, born Marcy Faith Behrens, was born on November 4, 1980, in Providence, North Carolina.

She made her TV acting debut in an episode of the Nickelodeon series Drake & Josh.
