Most recently, General Hospital viewers were shocked after Kristina Davis, played by Kate Mansi, suffered a devastating fall that left her and her baby’s life at risk.

Last week, Kristina, who is pregnant, was seen arguing with Ava Jerome (Maura West) in Thursday’s episode.

She threatened to testify against Ava at the custody trial, then, distracted, backed away and accidentally tripped over a black backpack.

Kristina crashed through a window and fell two stories, landing face first in the Metro Court pool.

She floated unconscious in the pool as those next to her looked on in horror.

Worst of all, Kristina was pregnant with her sister’s baby as a surrogate.

After Joss rescued Kristina from the pool, she was rushed to the hospital where she underwent an emergency C-section.

Everyone came together, even Ava, who played the victim and cried at the hospital, hoping that Kristina and the baby would survive.

Even though she knew it was an accident, Ava also knew that no one would believe her, so she swapped her backpack for high heels in her room.

She then made a mess of the room and stated: “Kristina did this to herself.”

Ava tried to sell the story that Kristina had metaphorically hit rock bottom before literally doing so by becoming violent and attacking her.

Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) didn’t believe it and arrested Ava.

Meanwhile, Kristina was rushed to the hospital, and in the ambulance, her blood pressure began to drop.

Kristina began to hemorrhage because the placenta separated from the baby due to the fall.

She went into shock, leaving the baby in fetal distress, leading to an emergency caesarean section.

In February 2022, series antagonist Peter August, played by Wes Ramsey, died in the finale from a tire iron thanks to Felicia Jones.

Forced to flee the country with Peter, Maxie Jones was kind to him until he not-so-subtly threatened her.

Maxie reminded Peter that he was responsible for Faison killing Nathan before she managed to escape.

While running away from Peter, Maxie flagged down her mother, Felicia, before the pair were run off the road by their pursuer.

Maxie led Peter on a chase before finally becoming worried about him.

Choosing to die rather than be with him, Maxie accepts her fate as an emotional Peter ready to kill her.

However, she is saved by Felica – who hits Peter over the head with a tire iron.

The blow caused him to fall down a slope where he lost consciousness.

After waking up and calling Maxie, who refuses to give her any sympathy, Anna Devane arrives and stays with Peter until he dies from his injuries.

Finola Hughes, who plays Anna, told Soap Opera Digest about Peter’s death: “Peter was neglected and never raised by his parents, and who was really there to support him?”

“Who did right by this man, really,” she added.

Then-writer Dan O’Connor told Digest that he and soon-to-return writer Chris Van Etten “went through countless different scenarios of how to get to an ending.” [for Peter] this was not only producible, given the limits of our show, but also exciting and big.”

But there’s only one way to end this “when you have a villain who has left a trail of bodies in his wake, like Peter has for the last four and a half years.”

When James Franco decided to guest star on a soap opera, he joined General Hospital as artist-turned-serial killer Franco Baldwin.

His character was initially seen as an eccentric and artistic type, but it later became clear that he was evil.

Franco developed an obsession with Jason Morgan and decided to terrorize him and his family.

After The Disaster Artist actor’s performance as Franco, the character returned with a different actor playing him.

Franco had a brain tumor removed and was later thought to be an ordinary citizen of Port Charles before being killed by Peter.

Jason Quartermaine, played by Steve Burton, is the son of Dr. Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) and his lover, Susan Moore (Gail Ramsey).

He was adopted by Alan’s wife, Dr. Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), and enjoyed life as the golden boy of the city’s richest family.

He had plans to become a doctor like his parents, until his alcoholic brother, AJ, caused a car accident that left Jason brain damaged.

After waking up, Jason had no memory of his previous life and his personality changed drastically.

Fed up with his family pressuring him to be what he was, he moved away, changed his last name to Morgan, and started working for Sonny.

THE DEATH OF BJ JONES

Tony Jones’ daughter and his late wife Tania Jones died in a school bus accident.

The gripping storyline saw BJ Jones’ school van hit by a drunk driver, leaving the 7-year-old boy brain dead.

His father decided to donate his organs, with his heart transplanted to his sick cousin Maxie.

One of General Hospital’s most touching moments was captured when Tony placed his head on Maxie’s chest and heard his daughter’s heartbeat inside his niece.

General Hospital was once known as an adventure soap opera with many stories revolving around treasure hunts and spy drama.

One such adventure saw Mikkos Cassadine, played by John Colicos, using the Ice Princess diamond in his weather machine – so he could freeze the world.

Mikkos planned to take over the world, planning to blackmail the rest of the planet after freezing Port Charles.

General Hospital’s “all-time great villain” ended up being thwarted by Luke, Laura Spencer, and Robert Scorpio.

Ironically, the evildoer would become the only victim of her freezing machine, leading Helena to cross Luke and Laura and leading to the Spencer/Cassadine rivalry.
