“I didn’t expect that to happen, honestly. I’m very, very happy that he chose to bring me back,” she said. Deadline on Monday.

“I really thought it was gone. It was kind of a roller coaster for me, and I’m so grateful that roller coaster is back on the rise.

“Sheila is my happy place. Getting that call asking if I would consider coming back was one of the best calls I’ve ever received in my life.

She admitted it was a “hard pill to swallow” when she was told her character was being killed off and suspected her return might have something to do with the support from her fans.

“I definitely saw the reaction. The fans were going crazy. They were exploding,” she recalled.

The daytime star said the messages of support she received from viewers “brought her to tears.”

Kimberlin added that she had to keep her return to set completely secret, even using a fake name in the studio.

“I parked in the back where no one could see me,” she said. TV Insider.

“They didn’t call me Kimberlin when they called me to the set, my name is Dana, and everything was kept secret, quiet.

“I was asked to keep a secret and I’m definitely the person who could do that. I know how important that is for a plot when you want to surprise your audience.”
