GENERAL Hospital actor confirmed his departure from the soap opera amidst the cast change.
Nicholas Alexander Chavez, 24, announced on X, formerly known as Twitter, that he has stopped playing Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital.
“I’m so grateful for the opportunity GH has given me and I wouldn’t be as busy as I am professionally if it weren’t for the talented producers, writers, directors and fellow actors,” he tweeted.
The soap opera actor joked that he could return to the program in the future.
“[Executive Producer] Frank Valentini is a mentor and friend, and we’ve had some pretty extensive conversations about my future on the show,” he added.
“While there are no current plans for my return, we are still talking openly about future possibilities for Spencer in Port Charles.”
In late April, fans became suspicious of the star’s departure after the show’s opening credits removed his nickname.
It’s unclear how the Daytime Emmy Award winner will return due to his character’s fate left on a cliffhanger.
Viewers last saw Nicholas on the show at the end of January.
During its final episode, Spencer apparently died after being injected with a deadly drug.
Spencer fell from the boat and sank in the River Seine, France.
Sources close to the production said TV line the 23-year-old star will not be replaced.
The Crushed actor joined the cast of GH in 2021.
In February, the actress Eden McCoy returned to the role of Josslyn Jacks and replaced Courtney Fulk, who took her place during her sabbatical.
A month before his final episode aired, Nicholas took a leave of absence and began filming Monster with Nip/Tuck creator Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan.
During the second season, he will play Lyle Gernandez of the Mendez Brothers – both brothers were convicted of murdering their parents.
