SOAP star Katherine Kelly Lang shared a reservation about a major nomination.
The Bold and the Beautiful actress shared her thoughts after being “very shocked” by her Daytime Emmy nomination.
Katherine, 62, plays Brooke Logan on the popular CBS soap opera opera.
The television star has been in the lead role since the show began in 1987.
Katherine has been nominated for a Daytime Emmy four times in the past but has never won the award.
She now has a chance to win the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
“I didn’t expect that. I’m very picky when it comes to the scenes I submit, and sometimes I don’t submit, and I just don’t worry about submitting to the Emmys. And actually, this year, I didn’t want to,” she said People.
“Because when I go back and look at everything, I don’t like it. And I think that’s the actor’s perspective.
“And also if you’re thinking, ‘Oh, people are looking at your work out of context.’ And that bothers me. It’s like they don’t know the story that’s happening up until that point,” she explained.
The California native also admitted that she worked on her speech despite her reservations.
“I knew I had to do it. I’m not very good at speeches. I don’t like talking in front of people. I’m an actress, but I like being in front of a camera, not in front of a bunch of people. But in case. You never know what will happen, so you must be prepared.
“Every time I say this to myself, I say it differently. So I just hope that on the day, if that happens, I can get it all out. At least I have the markers.”
Katherine also shared that, win or lose, she was excited to talk to actors from other soaps.
“You end up in your little bubble and then it’s Cool being able to see people, people you know just because you work in the same industry and people you may have known over the years but just don’t have the chance to talk to.
“So it’s fun to just talk, see everyone, hug everyone. I just wish everyone good luck and just… It’s amazing, honestly.”
VERY BOLD
Although Katherine was honored with a nomination for her performance, The Bold and the Beautiful faced criticism for its storyline.

Fans expressed their fury when villain Sheila Carter – played by Kimberlin Brown – was teasingly killed off.
When Sheila was about to be cremated, her fiancé, Deacon Sharpe, realized that the body was not Sheila’s.
Instead, Sheila’s daughter-in-law, Steffy Forrester, stabbed Sheila’s lookalike, Sugar.
Some fans weren’t convinced by the twist and suggested the reveal was predictable.
“Just as many of us imagined,” one person criticized X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Moral of the story. Never be too happy when you think Sheila Carter is dead!” another fan joked.
