Days of Our Lives Welcomes Three New and Returning Cast Members After Fan-Favorite Actor Exits Despite Viewer Backlash

DAYS of our Lives revealed that three new and returning cast members were returning to Salem.

His debut on the show comes after fans were left devastated following fan favorite Harris Michaels’ farewell.

On Monday, Soap opera summary shared Cherie Jimenez will replace Camila Banus’ role as Gabi Hernandez DiMera.

She is set to make her debut on Thursday, reuniting with her character’s husband, Stefan, played by Brandon Barash.

Judith Chapman, who plays Diana Colville, will make her return to Days of Our Lives.

Talking to the outlet upon returning, Chapman said, “I was surprised to get that call.

“And then I was thrilled, especially because I found out that my scenes were going to be with Greg[Rikaart]So Leo and Mom are reunited!”

She went on to say that after reading the script, she thought, “This is great.”

Chapman has not appeared on the show since her brief appearance in 2019.

Diana Colville was originally played by Genie Francis from 1987 to 1989, before Chapman took over.

NEW FACE IN THE CITY

While fans are happy to see Jimenez and Chapman returning to the beloved show, Days of Our Lives also welcomes a new face.

Kennedy Garcia joined the show on Tuesday as Felicity Greene.

Fans will see Garcia’s character show off her friendship with Chanel Dupree, played by Raven Bowens.

Garcia’s time on the soap honors her as the first young adult with Down syndrome to appear on daytime TV.

Speaking with TV Insider When she got the role, Felicity said, “I got the audition for Felicity last year and I was so excited!

“I’ve wanted to be on a soap opera for a long time, so a role for a teenager with Down syndrome came up was just incredible!”

When the news broke, fans were ecstatic to learn that she was headed to Salem.

“That’s fantastic! I look forward to seeing you in Salem!” said one fan.

“I can’t wait to see your beautiful face in my favorite soap!” said another.

GOODBYE HARRIS

In addition to the new cast members, Days of Our Lives also said goodbye to fan favorite Harris Michaels, played by Steve Burton.

During his final scene on Monday, fans saw Michaels say goodbye to his ex, Ava, played by Tamara Braun.

When the news broke, fans were devastated to learn of his departure.

One Facebook user wrote: “Harris needs to stay!”

“I hope he comes back. He and Ava are a good match,” said another.

Others believe that his goodbye is not final, as they did not kill him on the show.

“Well I’m glad Harris is leaving town and they didn’t kill him which means there might be a chance he comes back one day so who knows,” one fan wrote.

Although Burton is no longer with Days of Our Lives, the famous soap opera star will continue his role as Jason Morgan on General Hospital.

Fans also said goodbye once again to Bryan Dattilo’s character, Lucas Horton.

Dattilo’s departure is not the first for the show since its debut in 1993.
