In Thursday’s episode, Michael’s character, Dr. Hamilton Finn, said goodbye to his on-screen daughter, Violet, played by Jophielle Love, in one of the most touching scenes yet.

Michael shared a sweet Instagram post calling his departure from on-screen father duties “the hardest goodbye ever for me,” with a series of Photos from both.

“The first photo was taken right after Violet and Finn said their final goodbye,” he continued.

“After they said cut, Jophielle Love and I immediately met up and held each other like we didn’t want it to end.”

He also posted a video of the moment the two met before sharing words of wisdom with the young actress.

“Jophielle, you are pure magic and will do incredible things in this life,” he wrote.

“Go ahead with rainbows in your heart and know that I will never forget you.”

On the show, Hamilton was told he went to rehab. However, in real life, Michael is no longer part of the show.

Although Michael didn’t explain why he was leaving and what’s next for the actor, he did thank his fans and collaborators for a successful season.
