GENERAL Hospital star Michael Easton opened up about his feelings about his character’s storyline following his abrupt exit.
The soap actor said he was “hurt and hurt” that Dr Hamilton Finn was let go.
Michael’s final episode aired last week after eight years on the soap.
He said Soap opera summary that he didn’t expect to say goodbye to Hamilton.
“You have to remove your ego from it and realize you have a job to do,” Michael told the outlet.
The General Hospital star said the last few weeks of filming were “very raw and very exhausting” because they had to pack a lot of material into a short space of time.

“Each day was exciting because each day was not just about doing the work, it was also about [saying] goodbye. It was very difficult to say goodbye to Jane Elliot [Tracy] and for Josh [Swickard, Chase] and Becky [Herbst, Elizabeth] and everyone I came into contact with, so everything was difficult,” he said.
Michael attacked the show’s writers and said he wanted more plot.
“I appreciate the writers who gave me so much material, but from an actor’s point of view, I wish I had had a little more time to add a little more subtlety and a little more nuance to it,” he said. the exit.
PROCESSING YOUR EXIT
As Michael processed his time on the show coming to an end, he admitted he felt a little hurt by the decision.
“You get a little hurt and you get a little hurt, and part of your head says, ‘Well, just do it’ — and then I ended up investing more [in my performance]to make everything even better for them,” he said.
“I really wanted to make it work, so my thought was: [Finn’s descent] had to go beyond alcoholism. Addiction and stuff like that, I kind of know a lot about it, but to get where I needed to go [with the character]it had to be an almost complete emotional break.”
Hamilton is leaving the show to enter rehab due to his alcohol addiction.
Michael said his performance was all about telling the truth and committing to the story.
“So it was raw for me and it was humiliating, but it was also good. I felt like I left it all out there,” he told Soap Opera Digest.
However, it took a few days for him to shake off the news of his departure.

“I think in the past I probably would have gone out and gotten drunk. But this time I went home and [his kids] Lilah Bell and Jack were waiting for me,” he said.
“It was like Dad needed a hug and the kids were waiting with hugs and honestly, everything just got better from that moment on.”
Michael also said he wanted to tell fans about his departure.
“I just wanted them to hear it from me. I feel like I have a really amazing relationship with — I’ll say fans, but I think of them more as friends,” he shared.
DRAMATIC EXIT
On June 26, Michael announced his departure from the soap opera in a dramatic Instagram video.
“I always liked the Irish goodbye,” said the actor in his publish.
“That’s when you leave the party without telling anyone you left. But I thought you all deserved better. So I just want to let you know that I just finished filming my final scenes here on General Hospital.“
“I’ve loved every minute I’ve been here. I want to thank the entire cast and crew for allowing me to share their stage for the past 10 years. Most importantly, I want to thank all of you for the kindness and love you’ve shown me and my family that I will never forget you,” Michael continued.
Michael then walked past the studio one last time in silence.
