The child actor made his acting debut at the age of five and starred in 226 episodes.

He won the Young Artist Awards and became the highest-paid child actor, earning around $300,000 (£236,310) per episode.

Despite his success, Angus decided to quit acting and focus on his education while attending the University of Colorado.

Speaking about his departure, he told US broadcaster KHOU that he felt like a “hypocrite” for starring in a show that poked fun at real-life issues.

He said: “I was making light of topics in our world that are really issues for a lot of people.

“I was a paid hypocrite because I didn’t agree with it, but I still did it.”

He would continue to speak out against his role on Two and a Half Men in religious videos, encouraging fans not to watch the show and calling the series “dirty.”

However, after receiving backlash, he told US Weekly that he had “the highest regard and respect for all the wonderful people on Two and a Half Men” and that it was never his intention to show “indifference” or “disrespect” to his former colleagues.

He added: “I apologize if my comments reflect my indifference and disrespect to my colleagues and lack of appreciation for the extraordinary opportunity I have been blessed with.”

After years off screen, Angus made a brief return to showbiz by starring in Bookie in 2023, reuniting with his former co-star Charlie Sheen.
