The fate of one of Netflix’s biggest surprise hits has been revealed after it scored an impressive 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

South London-set superhero show Supacell has become a surprise hit for the streamer after racking up an impressive 25 million views in its first month.

It dominated the top 10 global charts for six weeks after becoming a huge hit in 91 countries.

The show, starring Tosin Cole, Adelayo Adedayo and Eddie Marsan, follows the lives of five south Londoners who are brought together by a family history of sickle cell disease.

The group develops a series of unexpected superpowers and has to defend themselves from an organization that has decided to arrest them.

Created by rapper and film producer Rapman, he revealed how he had big plans for future of the show after it was confirmed that a second series was in the works.

Speaking to Tudum, he said: “I can’t wait for the world to see Supacell, season 2.”

He added: “I’ve always had that [mapped out] for season 3. I know how season 2 ends.

“I have things planned for this story. I’ve had this in my head for years, so I’m ready to go.

“Supacell Season 1 is my Batman Begins. It’s a prequel to what they will be like. Season two is when you really see what they become.

“That future you saw at the end of the pilot in London, that exact future doesn’t exist anymore. They changed everything. It’ll be interesting when we get into the writers’ room.”

THE news The fact that the smash hit was back was met with great enthusiasm from fans, who were excited to hear that the gritty show would be back.

One fan declared: “Best news I’ve heard all day.”

A second went on to say: “Yesssss I’m so excited.”

“The whole of south London is buzzing,” chimed in a third.

While a fourth said: “@realrapman PLEASE can we have more than 6 episodes in season 2 and PLEASE don’t make us wait too long!! Thanks in advance!”

The show’s cast also includes Boarders actor Josh Tedeku and rappers Ghetts and Digga D.

The show is yet to confirm a release date with Netflix set to issue updates on the show’s production in due course.
