A WOMAN accused of being the ‘real-life Martha’ has raged at Netflix’s Baby Reindeer after receiving death threats.
The hit Netflix show is based on the life of comedian Richard Gadd and a stalker who sent him more than 41,000 emails, 350 hours of voicemails and 106 pages of letters.
Richard, 34, stars in the series as himself, while actress Jessica Gunning plays Martha Scott, the stalker.
The comedian never revealed the identity of the Real life ‘Martha’, but fans of the series claim they found her, despite Richard insisting that they not try to identify anyone from the series.
Now a Scottish woman accused of being the ‘real Martha’ has spoken out and insisted: “I’m the victim here.”
The woman spoke to The daily log – with the publication deciding not to identify or name her – and revealed that she had received death threats from Baby Reindeer fans.
She said: “I’m the victim here, not Richard Gadd.
“I have received death threats as a result of his program, despite the fact that many of the things he has stated are simply not true.
“Someone online said, ‘If I find you, I’ll kill you.’ A guy in North Carolina said he and other people were going to chase me
like I supposedly stalked Gadd.
“I have two hours” to sleep last night. I thought, what if his supporters actually do things like this?”
The 58-year-old man has law degree and said she has not seen the show but is aware of several scenes that allegedly depict her.
She added: “I was in the company of Richard Gadd on a few occasions but did not pursue him as he claims.
“His story is that this is a gross intrusion into my privacy. I haven’t seen him in 12 years.”
She also said that she was in his company “two or three times” and that other people were always around.

She said: “It wasn’t a case of me going out with Gadd to eat or picnicking with him.
“There were always other people around and we didn’t sleep together.”
The ‘real Martha’s’ words come as online detectives tried to hunt down the real-life man who repeatedly sexually assaulted Richard’s character Donny on the show.
POLICE INVESTIGATION
They ended up sending abuse and death threats to a man unrelated to the events the show is based on.
The individual, who was unfairly accused by fans, had to report the harassment to the police.

A British spokesman police The force confirmed: “We are investigating after a man reported receiving threatening messages on social media.
“Investigations are at an early stage and we are in the process of gathering information from the victim.”
APPEAL TO FANS
Afterwards, Richard declared on Instagram, saying: “People I love, worked with and admire… Are unfairly being caught up in speculation.

“Please don’t speculate about who any of the real-life people could be. That’s not the point of our show. Lots of love, Richard.”
The writer also made it clear that he anonymized characters for legal reasons and to protect vulnerable people.
Baby Rena is now available on Netflix.
