NBC’s streaming service Peacock has gotten major backlash following its latest financial decision.

Starting in July, subscribers will see a $2 increase on their monthly bill or a $20 increase on their annual bill – very similar to the price increase in 2023.

Peacock Premium will increase from $5.99 to $7.99 per month and will include ads.

For an ad-free experience, download movies and TV shows on the go, and access local channels, Peacock Premium Plus will increase from $11.99 to $13.99 per month.

Annual plans will increase from $59.99 to $79.99 per year for Peacock Premium and from $119.99 to $139.99 per year for Peacock Premium Plus.

New customers will see the price increase on their invoices from July 18th and existing customers will see it from August 17th.

On Peacock, fans have access to NBC and Bravo originals and exclusive content.

These shows include The Office, Saturday Night Live, Yellowstone, Law & Order, The Real Housewives franchise, Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, and Vanderpump Rules.

The streaming service also features WWE and other sporting events.

Its latest business move comes ahead of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France.

‘I CAN NOT AFFORD’

As soon as fans heard about the price increase, they shared their disgust on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Hard pass. Too many streaming services. Not worth all the money,” one tweeted.

A second said: “Increasing the price is getting boring.”

“They need to calm down. Their service isn’t all that,” said a third.

A fourth wrote in all capital letters: “Stop raising the price of Peacock! People will cancel. [greedy].”

“This will kill Peacock,” said another person.

A sixth person said: “Peacock doesn’t have enough content to justify this price increase!”

“Peacock is trash,” wrote a seventh.

“[F**k outta here] with this price increase for streaming services,” said an angry eighth fan.

Peacock responded to a user’s complaint asking why they were increasing their prices.

“These pricing changes allow Peacock to continue to create the best experience for its viewers, remain competitive in the market, and provide exclusive content across all genres,” the company said.
