NETFLIX has announced that it will cancel the beloved young adult series Heartbreak High after its third season.
Fans complained that the series “deserved at least four seasons” and revealed that they were upset that the streamer routinely cancels “good shows” at the beginning of their season.

On Thursday, the Netflix X account tweeted“Heartbreak High has been renewed for a third – and final – season!”
The second season premiered on the streamer on April 11, debuting at number one in its native Australia and remaining on Netflix’s Top 10 English TV Series list for three consecutive weeks, per Variety.
O Netflix press release stated: “Hey SLTs, don’t put away your Lynx Africa or TNs just yet because Heartbreak High will be returning for a third and final season – roll out the commemorative chips!”
He continued: “Season three will see the talented cast and creators come together in Sydney (homelands of Gadigal, Dharug, Dharawal and Ku-ring-gai), Australia, for their final year at Hartley High.”
Referring to season two’s cliffhanger, Netflix ANZ chief content officer Que Minh Luu stated: “She never got the letter – but now we can see what happens next.”
Luu continued: “Renewing Heartbreak High for its final season is a great source of pride for us at Netflix.
“It’s been a joy to work with the creative minds behind our favorite Australian YA show and bring our stories, our culture and our inside jokes to all our fans here at home and around the world.”
“See you on mess day,” she concluded.

FAN RESPONSE
While fans were elated at the announcement of another season, they were also disappointed that it was the show’s last.
In response to X’s post, formally on Twitter, a fan tweeted: “This show deserves so much more than three seasons.”

A fourth tweeted: “thanks for renewing it but we deserve at least 4 seasons.”

HIGH DISGUSTION
Heartbreak High is a soft reboot of the 1994 comedy-drama series of the same name.
Created for Netflix by Hannah Carroll Chapman, the series follows the students and teachers of Hartley High, specifically Amerie Wadia, played by Ayesha Madon, as she tries to repair her reputation “while navigating love, sex and heartbreak,” by IMDB.
The show also stars Thomas Weatherall as Malakai Mitchell, Bryn Chapman Parish as Spencer “Spider” White, Asher Yasbincek as Harper McLean and James Majoos as Darren Rivers.
The show was not only a huge hit among fans but also among critics.
It has received numerous accolades, including an International Emmy Award and 15 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards nominations, including Best Drama Series.
