Who is real life Martha from Baby Reindeer?
Since it was released in April 2024, Netflix’s Baby Reindeer has had everyone talking.
The real-life drama was inspired by the ordeal suffered by Scottish creator and protagonist Richard Gadd.
The then-struggling comedian, who goes by the name Donny in Baby Reindeer, is seen handing a free cup of tea to a woman named Martha and his nightmare begins.
Things then turn sinister and Martha’s obsession begins.
The miniseries claims that she bombarded Donny with over 41,000 emails.
In Baby Reindeer, Martha (played by actress Jessica Gunning) also sent him hundreds of tweets and hours of voicemails during an alleged four-year campaign of terror.
Due to the story being based on real-life events, Internet sleuths immediately sprung into action to try and find out who the REAL Martha was.
It was these same armchair detectives who claimed that Fiona Harvey, a Scottish law graduate, is the woman on whom Richard Gadd based the character.
Hailing from Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Fiona admitted to knowing the comedian, having met him years ago when he was a bartender at The Hawley Arms in Camden, London.
She told The Scottish Sun that she befriended Richard and claimed she gifted him a pair of “M&S tartan trousers” to congratulate him on one of his comedy gigs.
But Fiona denied ever stalking him.
She explained to us that she first met Baby Reindeer when Richard took her to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a one-man show.
She said: “He created a character called Martha and put me in the picture.
Reindeer comes out of disguise and gives me his first TV interview. Fiona Harvey wants her to have her say and ‘set the record straight’.

“This is a program for 20-somethings.
“People without a life, without a job, whatever. I don’t want to be a celebrity.”
Comic Richard said he went to great lengths to hide the identity of the woman who stalked him in real life.
He went so far as to beg fans not to look for the real Martha.
