Netflix’s vice president revealed the reasoning behind editing Kim Kardashian’s segment on The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.
Viewers criticized Netflix after the charged version of the NFL star’s roast removed the awkward moment between Kim, 43, and the crowd.
“Post edits are standard practice for comedy specials and happen on live broadcasts,” said Netflix vice president Robbie Praw. The Hollywood Reporter.
“Whether it’s captions, adding or removing things we can’t do during the live stream.”
Robbie understood that the editing changed the overall authenticity of the moment, adding that watching it live adds to the fun of “not missing those things.”
He clarified that the Skims mogul never asked for it to be edited, adding that it is part of the industry standard.

THE CLIP IN QUESTION
Sunday night’s screening showed the Kardashians star being booed by the audience as she took to the podium for her performance at the live event.
She immediately joked with host Kevin Hart, 44, saying: “Thanks, Kevin. I know a lot of people make fun of your height.”
The audience immediately shouted “boo” as she looked around and stood there awkwardly for a few seconds.
“Alright, alright, alright,” she said in an attempt to calm the crowd.
Once everyone stopped, she repeated the same blow to Kevin in an attempt to start over completely.
While the unedited clip may have quickly circulated online, Netflix chose to cut the moment from the version that is now on the service.
Instead, it shows Kim quickly entering her part.
Viewers were quick to criticize Netflix for the editing choice, taking their frustration to X, formerly Twitter.
“What is the logic/reasoning behind the edit,” one person tweeted.

KIM ROAST
As for Kim, others thought the Hulu personality handled the uncomfortable moment as best she could.
“Oh my God! That was unwatchable! I hope someone hugged her afterwards!” sympathized one viewer.
“[Kim] you should feel good about that. Screw the haters!” said a second, another wrote: “Poor Kim, people are so mean.”
The moment didn’t seem to phase Kim too much, as she continued her segment without any difficulty.
She even poked fun at her own public scandals and relationship rumors between her and Tom, saying that if they had dated, she would just “release the tape.”
Rumors circulated last year that the two had struck up a romance following Kim’s relationship with Pete Davidson and Tom’s divorce from Gisele Bündchen.
The mother of four also mentioned her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who supported OJ Simpson in his 1995 trial.
“Honestly, it’s hard for me to see people criticizing you, but I think a lot of my family members have helped former football players,” she joked.

“I played in the NFL, so I’m not worried about a bunch of comedians, believe me,” he joked on NBC’s Today weeks earlier.
