NETFLIX has ‘cut’ a beloved show – just as they announced it was returning for a second series.
The streaming giant was delighted to announce that it had renewed 3 Body Problem for another edition.
However, it will be the last sci-fi show as bosses have confirmed they have canceled it.
3 Body Problem stars Jovan Adepo, John Bradley, Rosalind Chao and Liam Cunningham.
Its plot shows Rosalind’s character responding to contact from an alien in a secret military camp.
But it has consequences for today, as scientists are forced to confront humanity’s greatest threat.
In a statement, the producers said: “We are thrilled to be able to tell this story to its epic conclusion.
“Ever since we read the last page of Cixin Liu’s magnificent trilogy, we have hoped to be able to take audiences with us to the end of the universe. Here we go!”
O Hollywood reporter claim bosses originally wanted Netflix to greenlight the show for four series.
It’s unclear how many episodes the second and final season will have – or when filming will begin.
Reacting to the news, one fan said: “Does being renewed mean what they were thinking when they left us at season 1?”
A second wrote: “Did you think until the end? So just one more season? Even if the books are a trilogy?”
“Oh, okay. If you’re definitely finishing it, then I’ll watch it. I won’t get stuffed again like I did in 1899,” said a third.
