Ruby decided to leave her role as Francesca Bridgerton to star in Lockwood & Co and The Burning Girls.
When discussing her departure, she said What to watch: “I felt like it was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse!
“Working on Bridgerton was wonderful and it was incredible to be part of a show like this.
“Leaving was always going to be a difficult choice, but something about Lucy [Lockwood & Co] told me.
“It was an opportunity to explore a very different character and I learned a lot playing a young adult in charge of a series.
Later she explained to 1883 magazine: “What I miss most about that show [Bridgerton] it’s the people.
“They are amazing, generous, kind, hilarious and genuine.
“They are very, very good people, both the crew and the cast.”
When did Hannah Dodd replace Ruby on Bridgerton?
On May 12, 2022, it was announced that Hannah Dodd would replace Ruby as Francesca Bridgerton.
Regarding Netflix’s choice to cast her, Hannah shared with The wrap: “I got scared.
“It took me ages to not feel like I was in some kind of fan experience where I was just being taken around the set and having a look around.
“It was so bizarre being introduced to all these people.
“Now I can’t imagine not knowing these people or being a part of it.
“There’s definitely a rhythm and a dynamic to the show, so I tried to absorb that as much as possible. I was definitely learning as we went along.”
When teasing fans about what to expect from her portrayal, Hannah expressed Tudum: “Francesca is getting ready to [her debut].
“Filming it was absolutely terrifying because it was early in production.
“There’s definitely an air of innocence about her. Debutantes are so young.
“Although they have prepared for these moments their entire lives, you can’t replicate a ball or suitors you’ve never met before coming up to you.
“You don’t know how these conversations are going to go.”
