The Derry Girls actress stars alongside heartthrob Luke Newton, 31, and we take a look at her life behind the scenes
Relationship status
In March last year, The Sun On Sunday previously reported that the actor had split from his girlfriend.
He dated West End actress Jade Davies for three years before joining celebrity Raya dating app.
Since then, rumors have circulated about a possible romantic connection with his co-star Nicola, as the two have great chemistry and get along well.
Nicola even joked about how the pair broke furniture while filming one of the series’ infamous sex scenes.
However, they both later confirmed to the world that their relationship is purely platonic in nature.
At the Bridgerton premiere in New York, Nicola, 37, addressed the romance rumors head-on.
She admitted: “We think it’s really cute, I think because we really love each other. He is a very special person in my life and I was able to have this experience with him.
“I will never do anything like this again, on this scale… It’s so Cool to have such a lovely friend that I can do all this with.”
Body transformation
Luke began his performing journey at the London School of Musical theater.
He landed his first acting role in the BBC teen drama series The Cut, where he played Luke Atwood.
He has since appeared on the West End stage in the Book of Mormon in 2013, before going on to star in the Disney series The Lodge.
He made his Bridgerton debut in 2023 as young Colin Bridgerton, the third oldest of a group of seven brothers.
When he took the lead in season three, fans couldn’t help but immediately notice his drastic transformation.
The baby face is gone and viewers are now treated to a sculpted facial characteristics and rippling ‘chunky’ muscles.
Hidden talent
Luke can sing and I mean really sing!
Previously, he was part of a group called South 4, where according to Eaglethey signed a £1 million recording contract.
The band even released a single called Cougar Town, but decided to split shortly after its debut.
Helping to make music for the series The Lodge, Luke also often posted covers of hit songs on his own YouTube channel.
He said in an interview with Night Patternthat he inherited his voice from his father, who was on the hit show Stars In Their Eyes in the 90s.
Luke admitted: “He was on Stars in Their Eyes and won in 1995 or something. [points at himself] Stars in your eyes, remember?”
Music appears to run in his family, as two of his aunts performed in the West End and his mother is president of the Brighton & Hove Operatic Society.
