THE WITCHER fans think Liam Hemsworth is “too cute” to play the role of Geralt de Riva in the series.
The actor has replaced Henry Cavill as The White Wolf in the Netflix fantasy drama for the upcoming fourth season.
In an early trailer, Liam was seen sporting Geralt’s famous long white hair.
The clip showed him walking away from the camera before turning for a close-up of the Witcher character’s striking yellow eyes.
Fans were divided over Liam’s appearance, with some claiming he was “too handsome for the role”.
“The first thing I noticed… his nose looks like it belongs on a dwarf or hobbit from Lord of the Rings. It’s… really cute? Not in a good way,” one wrote on Reddit.
“He is literally very handsome,” said another, while a third posted: “He looks like Liam Hemsworth with a bad wig.”
“I’m sorry Henry fit in so well. I can’t like this one,” another person admitted.
Henry played the character for the show’s first three seasons and announced his departure in 2022.
Other fans praised Liam’s transformation into the character.
“His face matches it better. I think he looks great and I will definitely tune in,” one wrote.
“Ngl, he seems closer to the game Geralt than Cavill,” agreed another.
Liam will join Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and Princess Ciri (Freya Allan) in the new season.
There is no release date yet for the fourth season.
Based on the location work involved in the show and post-production, it’s reported that we’ll see it in early 2025.
Henry shocked fans when he announced he was stepping away from The Witcher in October 2022 – a year before the two-part third season was released last summer.
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been full of monsters and adventures and, unfortunately, I will hand over my medallion and my swords for season four,” he said at the time.
“In my place, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will take on the mantle of the White Wolf.
